I reread the book late last year, as watching a Trump rally reminded me of the “Two Minutes Hate.” I found it even more disturbing this time. One of the quotes that most hit home for me was this:

Hopefully we don’t find out some programmers just wanted to give them a thumbs up in encouragement. Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Maybe with a blue resurgence, dark green will follow. I’ve always wanted a dark green car, preferably called “British Racing Green” as that would make me feel cooler. But I’d also want it with a manual transmission.
A sleeper car I would have bought if it hadn’t been so thirsty is the Subaru Legacy GT Spec B. Not easy to find, especially unmodded. It’ll have an older Subaru engine with the inherent issues and probably have been driven like it can defy physics, but if you find a good one it may just be the stealthy dash of…
I haven’t bought a PS4 nor XBox One partly because I figured I had to be full-fledged adult at some point. Now I see this and realize, No, I don’t.
My Mazda dealer/service center always mentions the surveys and says Mazda considers anyting less than 10 a fail. I’m fairly happy with them but not astounded, and they have done some not so great things. So generally I never really feel they deserve “10s” but then answering honestly would evidently be seen as wholly…
But I think the GT-One holds a special place in the hearts of anyone who played Gran Turismo 3, however many years ago now. It does for me, anyway, and sparked an internal debate on whether the sound of its blow off valve was more spectacular than the banshee wail of the Mazda 787b. (I decided no).
I think the most heart wrenching race breakdown I’ve seen is Toyota at last year’s Le Mans. But this year’s race is only 11 days away; maybe they’ll make it the whole way this time.
I once had a turquoise car which really stood out. I recall attending a funeral and feeling a bit silly as my car really wouldn’t look right in a funeral procession, so I rode with someone else. At that point I thought maybe I should grow up a bit and choose more sombre colors.
So at a meeting at some point:
A lady in an almost identical CR-V would have hit or ran me off the road last week, if I hadn’t acted to avoid it after I noticed how badly she was driving and her not seeming to notice lane ends signs. They’re spreading!
I parked in a very sketchy garage daily for a number of years. One afternoon in particular I parked on the roof, stopped the car and felt everything shaking, much more than usual. Checked I had really stopped the car and the handbrake was on, then heard baseball announcers say they think there’s an earthquake. It…
Tom Bihn, any of them, but I’ll pick the Synapse 19 for this. I used to go through quite a few bags until a decade or so ago when I decided to spend a bit more on a Bihn. I’ve since put that thing through a lot, and it’s in great shape. Sadly the company does not seem that well known.

I do this as well, mainly in places where the speed limit is lower than seems reasonable for the road and environment. For instance, a state highway maintains a 25MPH limit for a couple miles outside of a rural town, but there’s nothing but straight road and remnants of a long shuttered Chevrolet dealer. And it’s…
My first Gran Turismo was GT3. I recall its demonstrating that none of the mods made as much difference as having better tires. That part seems to have some truth.
I also agree. I haven’t paid much attention to F1 in a number of years. But WEC, WRC, IMSA and others have been great. I’m still hoping I can make it to the Le Mans race at some point in my life.
Mine is rather simple. I was coming to a red light with a number of cars ahead. I stopped before an entrance/exit to a small shopping plaza and allowed a waiting car to exit (instead of blocking it). When I did this a woman in a luxury car behind me started beeping her horn.
If you Google “ 41°24'41"N 81°37'36"W ” you can see the place where Cloverleaf Speedway in Valley View, Ohio once was.
Not far from where I live is a winding, undulating road the meanders alongside a river. It’s fairly nice for about half the year, but it can be frightening for the winter half. After an ice storm I was heading down that road, went around a blind curve and saw three cars stopped and people standing in the road. As I…
The car covered in stripes was pretty awesome. So why not glitter?
