Hugh Laurie is spot on. Ralph Fiennes has done some cracking accents for ‘Quiz Show’ and ‘Strange Days’ and Kenneth Branagh’s in ‘Dead Again’ is perfect.

That’s the problem, 1800 American accent is totally different than modern day American accent. Think of Gangs of New York.

Watch a John Malkovich movie in which he attempts an accent and nobody else’s accent will ever bother you again.

The obvious problem being there is no such thing as an AMERICAN accent, any more than there is a British accent. People from the American South sound no more like Bostonians than people from Northern Britain sound like Londoners.

There’s also the possibility that this scenes is not chronologically taking place before Thor 3. It may be that Thor is going to find out the truth about Loki and Odin at some point during the movie, ends up coming back to Earth, meets Strange, and that’s where that scene takes place.

Yes, that’s likely the case. The tag here is reminiscent of the one for Ant-Man, where there was stuff going on there that didn’t make sense until we saw Civil War.

It made tons of money. That makes it successful. Successful doesn’t necessarily mean “good.”

I’m not a fan of ScarJo or the MCU Black Widow, but this is a fucking joke they can’t get it going. Of the Avengers cast, she is the ONLY person outside of Robert Downey Jr. to have a successful action movie in which she is the clear star.
