I don’t actually think that idea of a Clara-only 50th sounds terrible. You can imagine what Moffat was going for - less a story with the Doctor, more a story about the Doctor, which for an anniversary as big as a 50th does make some sense.

What I never understood about that theory, though, is that it’s clear that in Rose, Nine has just regenerated. He wouldn’t be the War Doctor.

People have been saying the MCU has been dying since Avengers 2 and yet the movies still make money and they have yet to make a real critical stinker.
