I don’t remember starring an “in-state tuition” analogy. Or even reading it.

Yeah, racism is bad no matter who the racist is. If anything, it’s worse when we turn on each other.

In what form would you need this acknowledgment before you consider it “honest”?

You’re right, we shouldn’t be fighting each other. At the same time, acknowledgement of how one group does wield more power does have to exist before we find solutions. The first step to healing is admitting there is a problem.

Thank you. I’m nearly 50 and biracial Mexican American / anglo. I cried the first time I saw intentionally cast multiracial families in a commercial. I believe that was 2013, the Cheerios commercial.

It seems so silly that a person of color can tweet #Oscarssowhite, and get praised as a feminist. But saying, #Asianwomenshusbandssowhite, really is a much deeper issue, and doing so is condemned. Why?

My brother was detained at the Canadian border for hours when he was driving back to Seattle, because the border patrol thought he was a Chinese refugee (and our heritage isn’t even Chinese, of course).

Asians as a whole are faring better than Blacks and Latinos. And again, that racism directed towards us is a hard pill to swallow coming from a community who you’d expect to have a bit more empathy. And yet who seem pretty comfortable shitting all over us to move their way up the social ladder to sidle up to racist

Asian American women are the most privileged minorites in the US. The social distance between white people and Asian women is the shortest of all minority groups.

Exactly. As a biracial woman, fuck this shit.

Getting booed at Cannes was ridiculous, and rooted in this really outdated idea that making a film available on a streaming service undercuts its prestige/artistry.

Not that I don’t care, because I do, but is a few lost hundreds of thousands of dollars lost over the course of a multi-millionaire A-list actress’ career really the pay disparity we should be addressing in America?

When is this embarrassing experiment going to be over?

That’s a feature, not a bug, for many who advocate those policies. In fact, it’s not even really a feature, but a core function.

Yeah, pretty sure the world has seen his approval ratings.

As an American, I should be ashamed and depressed with how we’re currently viewed and treated globally

Comment sections can flatten nuance, and that means sometimes trolls are hard to spot. Which means a calling card is always appreciated.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all to find that both of them had been in more episodes last season than Scott Caan who is supposed to be one of the lead actors.

Fair enough. From the casual viewer POV, though, it certainly seemed like those two were hired and billed as the show leads.
