If these were two gay people being persecuted for their orientation, this column would be full of outrage.
Well, yeah, that’s because there’s not a power dynamic between these two men. When it comes to a teacher and her student, there are all sorts of power dynamics. College professors aren’t supposed to get involved with their students—who are legally adults—for the same reason.
Once, at age 39, I had a relationship with a 23 y/o– which ended up being a phenomenally degrading experience. I discovered that when it comes to love, sex and intimacy, there is a level of respect, understanding, integrity and commitment that is extremely difficult to find in an inexperienced, young partner.

There was never a question where it was a travel ban.
I’m only going to give it a hard time for being not funny. And before your all like “It’s satire!”, I know... it’s just painfully bad satire.
I don’t know what the hell is going on at The Ringer that makes for so much of their half-baked content and how much of that is on him, but it’s either an ominous sign he got lucky at Grantland or, more likely, he misread what was likely to be similar only more popular.
Yes, context should matter. And the context is that he was exaggerating racial characteristics as a joke. To be funny. It’s pretty hard to claim that’s somehow not ridicule.
I’d switch.
Talk to Beckham - he’s the one pushing Miami, not MLS. I doubt the city would be on their radar without him.
