Hah! Joke’s on you, I own a Saturn!
The correct (American) answer: a used mid-size or half-ton pickup.
We also can’t forget that speeding tickets are such a handy (and easy) revenue generator. Sure this road is rated for 85MPH, but if we make the limit 55MPH, then we can bust those people with a several hundred dollar ticket. They won’t tell you this, of course. It’s all in the name of public safety.
True enough. NASCAR’s philosophy is to be a battle of driver skill, not what manufacturer can build a better car. Making them a spec series does that nicely.
I would love nothing more than to let the engineers have at it, but the biggest factor right now with NASCAR is, ironically, money. Things are already expensive and with the on track product being less than exciting at times (read, most 1.5 mile tracks, the majority of the racing), there are isssues with filling seats…
If they (and you) had some other means of getting where they need to go, the price of gas wouldn’t matter.
So a couple of things here. I don’t know how familiar you are with NASCAR, so my apologies if I sound like a bit of an asshole.
That would be a terrible idea. There are a lot of people right now who are barely making it with gas the price it is now. If you double the price of it at a minimum, then you’re forcing a lot of low income people to make even harder choices than they currently do. And don’t just assume that public transport is a…
My mom just bought one of these in dark gray. I like the look of it.
I think you’re looking at it the wrong way. It’s less about what speed people want to drive and more about what speed the road itself can handle. For example, here in New Mexico where I live, all of our interstate speeds are 75MPH with the exception of cities and tricky areas. In those 75MPH zones, the roads will…
Well damn. Now I want a surplus military truck.
I would love to have some kind of fiber service. Supposedly Comcast does have some in my neighborhood, but I haven’t checked with them.
The New Mexico thing happens entirely too much. And then to make it all worse, Colorado things they can just up and steal green chile from us. Bastards!
Yeah, but the problem with saying Albuquerque is when other people have you spell it out because they can’t fathom how to spell it properly.
Oh how I love Monty Python.
I read an article somewhere by a Microsoft researcher who looked into these scams; specifically the poor grammar that’s used in them. He found out that the scammers purposefully word things the way they do in order to weed out people who might be strung along a bit by more believable stories, but eventually not fall…
I like our layout where I work. Most folks in general have their own office, with the exception of 3 groups. The first is our helpdesk, which makes sense. The second is our graphics guys, who collaborate with each other all the time. The third group (my group) is the IT admins. We all share a big office, but we each…
Hey Steve. Once again, great article. I’m glad this came up because I looked up my car and found a few things. Is there a time limit on when recalls can be performed? I’ve got a 2003 Saturn L200 which has 4 recalls and 2 of them I’m currently experiencing. I’ve yet to check the VIN to see if they’ve been fixed or not,…
