I agree with you. Maybe if you had a dead one laying around you could do some of these, but to cannibalize a perfectly working NES, SNES, etc is just moronic. I've still got my original SNES. I've had it since 1994 (if I remember correctly, I was a kid at the time). It still works perfectly. I have it hooked up

You know, I've never understood why somebody would play an emulator over the original console if they had one that was working. I still have my old SNES and when I want to play SNES games, I turn it on. Maybe it's nostalgia for me, but I even took it off my HDTV and moved it to an old 32" CRT TV we've got at the

They'd better watch out or a new Challenger might bring the fight to them.

Any SSD will work provided you match their interfaces. I would imagine your current drive is SATA, so any SATA SSD will work.

Even though I have the Note II (and voted for it to be in here) I voted for the HTC One. My coworker has one, and while I'm not gonna go out and trade in my NII for the One, it's a damn impressive phone. I think the most impressive thing about it is the speakers. They're better than a lot of computer speakers I've

The S4 already has CM 10.1 support.

VOTE: Samsung Galaxy Note II

Around the middle of November of last year I built my parents a computer for about $300. I used similar components from the $300 build here, but I was able to get a 64GB Samsung 830 SSD on sale for $50 (a great deal at the time). Since they don't need much storage it turned out to be great. That system is a little

Yeah, I've got a swamp cooler here in New Mexico. The only disadvantage is that at best you'll have a temperature drop of about 15 degrees tops, and since it regularly hits 95+ here, it's still 80-85 degrees in the house.

Well it's a good thing nobody's asking you. How on earth did we all survive XP without UAC? It's a damn nanny setting and it gets in the way. So I disable it.

No pictures of mine, but I've got a Logitech G500 mouse and the G510 keyboard. It's a pretty good combo. And the 510 is a pretty solid replacement for my OG G15 (with the flip up screen).

How is the keyboard holding up? How long have you had it? I was considering getting one when I replaced my old keyboard, but I heard a lot of bad things about the quality and reliability of them.

So you're saying I shouldn't be buying a second meal just for my hair? Well that will sure save me some money.

I've done crossfire and single card configurations. I used crossfire to add more oomph to my system when I had a 4890 in it. I added a 4850 for cheap and was able to rock that configuration until I got my 7850. So far I'm only running one 7850 and all of my games run and look excellent on high settings at

Holy crap. I knew the POS modem I had from Comcast was a POS, but it's still DOCSIS 2.0. I just found the Motorola SB6141 on Amazon for 70 bucks. I know what I'm ordering today.

I've got a buddy who's a deputy in my local Sheriff's department here in New Mexico. He told me that personally he would take it, (I showed him mine), but that it was really up to each individual officer as to whether or not they would accept it. So YMMV.

Well yeah. It's illegal to carry that much TNT on you without a proper permit.

Fair deuce. I didn't even think of a notebook. I guess when it comes to some monitors it's a matter of how much work you want to put into it to get it in portrait mode. Some have the swivel stand, which is great. Others you'd probably have to use a third party mount and use the vesa holes on the monitor.

You can turn the monitor on it's side to get lots of height, or you can typically view two pages of a document side by side, which is handy as well.

My take on AV software is different from a lot of others. For those of us who are computer savvy, I think just about anything will work. I personally can run without an antivirus and be just fine. Most of that is because I use Firefox with various blocking addons (adblock, flashblock, etc). However, I also know
