Same thing I thought. The bridge tower in the background makes it look like the superstructure on an aircraft carrier.

Well I did try and get my hands on an HP touchpad when they had the firesale, but that was a no go. I've actually thought that using a 7" tablet such as the nook tablet or something similar would work really well in a car as a deck replacement, but I haven't yet had the time, effort, money, and decent car to try it…
The only kickers with not using ARM, is going to be heat dissipation and battery life. I've been playing around with an HP Slate 500 with the various releases of Win8. That thing has an Atom processor in it and gets pretty damn toasty after a decent amount of use. The battery life, while respectable, is nowhere…
I agree about not using tablets. I have a 4.3" smartphone and a laptop (and a desktop too, but that's irrelevant here). If I need to look something up quick, I've got my phone. If I need to do more work, I'll use my laptop. A tablet is nothing more than a nifty, expensive toy for me.
My guess is that MS's next Xbox will be announced next summer with a release around the 2013 holidays. There won't be a new console this year for one simple reason. Halo 4. It has been announced as an Xbox 360 game and it's coming out this November. MS is not going to do anything to hurt the sales of their biggest…
Ahh degaussing a monitor. Truly a fun thing to do. I had an old crappy CRT that I used to mess up with magnets just so I could degauss it.
I have an HP Slate 500 I've been playing with Win8 on. It's nice on a tablet. I just wish the multi-touch drivers worked on 8. I haven't had a chance to put the RC of Win8 on it yet, but hopefully it improves upon the performance.
I've been wanting to play around with it. By all accounts I've heard of it, it's pretty good as long as the hardware is good. Although it's gonna be pretty hard to rip me from my Amaze. I like that phone way too much.
Hah! I think you're right about BB using Base2. That mess is so backwards it's not even funny. I guess it's a good thing nobody is using the release year anymore, otherwise we'd prolly be up to 13.
What about Windows Phone 7 then? Or BlackBerry 10? Wouldn't those be much more advanced than iOS 6?
Ask and ye shall receive.
My household goes through 4 gallons of milk approximately every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. This thing would be absolutely useless for us.
Based on the other pictures on the original site it appears there's a block retaining wall of some sorts around the house and that's what he's standing on.
I love how everybody is hearing something different. I heard "Oh God."
It's pretty handy when I go diagnosing customer's computers.
The Portable Apps Suite has a version of WinDirStat that they've made portable. I know it's not a native feature, but at least you get portability with it.
I know a guy who's dad is a shiner. Depending on how he's feeling he'll make it with just about any fruit under the sun. His apple pie is damn fine and he has some coconut that will make you forget you're drinking alcohol. Well, until the alcohol gets going in your body that is.
I just gotta say, that's a pretty awesome and simple design. I'm already thinking of tweaks to it for my own setup and will likely visit the hardware store in the next few days. Thanks for the original post! :)
Super high resolution. In all likelihood, that monitor is running at 2560x1600 resolution, a much higher resolution than any TV. And yeah, those monitors aren't cheap. $1200 sounds about right.
I want a race between this and Clarkson's second Toyboata.
