I’m sure Mahk will be glad to respond.

Honestly I see where you’re coming from, but there are a few problems with some of your examples. The 323, Escort, B series, and Ranger are just plain normal cars. No one expects or cares that these are shared development models, they didn’t come with a rabid fan base who waited for years for their arrival. The Maser

That has a Ford power plant and is entirely it’s own car.  Ford went in neck deep on the GT.  They didn’t call up Mazda or anyone else to share the risk.  Multimatic isn’t a rival car company building and selling their own version of the GT and neutering every one they send to Ford.

I still don’t have a 4k TV and probably won’t get one until I feel like replacing the 55" 1080p unit in my living room with something bigger. I think for the majority of normal people 1080 and big screens was enough. It was hard enough back in the day explaining to people why they would want this TV over that TV when

“The plan rarely survives contact with the enemy.”

But this does nothing to prevent the interior and especially the dash from crumbling to pieces. I love the exterior looks of this generation, but they are massively let down by the atrocious interior quality.

classic case of I put $x into it and I need to get that back.

all of it

I can’t imagine anyone paying anything close to 5 figures for this barge.  I mean at least you don’t have to worry about the FWD vs RWD argument as it would still take two football fields to turn this thing around.  This is maybe a $5000 car.  When the engine lets go it’ll be worth $500 or less.  CP

As far as I’m concerned Toyota still doesn’t make a sports car. They paid Subaru to develop the BR-Z so Toyota could slap some Toyota/Scion badges on it and sell it too. They did the same thing here with BMW so they could charge more for it than the 86. Both of these cars are “Toyota’s” and yet they really aren’t.

Let’s not forgot the massively BS roughing the passer call before this. The announcers were like “head and neck area clear roughing call.” I’m like he barely touched anything remotely close to the head and neck area that was all chest.  If that crap hadn’t of been called this whole series would have been different.

Didn’t Ford have an 8 plug 8 valve 4 cylinder? I don’t know if they ever turbo charged it or not. They had some nonsense about better performance, but really it just made sure if one of the plugs got fouled up to much it could still run with the other plug albeit poorly.

Now playing

Do I want an Acura Integra Type R? Heck yes! Do I want to pay top dollar for a beaten and abused Type R that appears to be absolutely filthy? No, CP! Props for keeping it original, but original and worn to the seams is almost as bad as fart cans and badly fitting unmatched unpainted body kits. At least if you had one

Honestly Eve might have a higher take rate if new players were invulnerable for about 6 months or until you reach a certain level of development that removed your newbie shield.

The biggest thing that used to bother me when I played were the highsec suicide gankers taking down lowly little miners.  You wasted how much isk to take down a retriever with a few anti npc rat drones.  For what?  lols?  Great you set me back a week and burned 10x the isk to do it. Go you.  I never bothered even

I’m going to guess there was a little bit more to it than being lazy and probably something to do with the live axle leaf spring suspension being able to handle more weight and to keep the cost down.

The Willy’s has little to do with the Crossover craze. That’s kind of why the modern Jeep Wrangler hasn’t majorly altered it’s basic design. 4WD, chassis on frame, basic(ish) interior, and removable panels. The crossover craze is more related to all vehicles just getting larger and everyone wanting to be on the same

How many cars from that era had IRS? It added expense and needless complexity if all it was being used for was hauling the kids and groceries.  There’s a reason leaf spring suspension has been in use since the days of the horse and buggy it just works, isn’t overly complex, and is only a major compromise on sports

That’s a nice list of near unobtanium you’ve got there. Most gearheads will never even see a few of those in person let alone drive or wrench on one. While Jason’s list is something the average person could own at least one of each example in his/her life. And take the Defender off of there, I can’t be the only one

Cars are made honest or dishonest by those who build and market them. The car itself can’t be dishonest, but when you slap a Sport badge on a wallowing tank of an SUV the honesty of those who have sullied its hatch comes into question, thus making the vehicle dishonest. I’m looking at you Santa Fe Sport and Rogue
