He’s delightful as Andy Samberg’s asshole dad on Brooklyn 99!

Staten Island is basically always red - most constituents are Irish or Italian Catholics who would vote for a box of hair if it was labeled ‘conservative’. Parts of the island are growing more diverse, but in general it’s over bloated with the above, including a large chunk of FDNY and NYPD folks. (Signed, a liberal

I miraculously saw the OBC and was most excited for Daveed and Leslie Odom Jr. Daveed now turns up regularly in some of my favorite stuff - he’s been a periodic guest on blackish as Tracee Ellis Ross’s brother, and he’s even on Sesame Street as a Mr. Noodle!

I love your grandma.

It’s almost entirely sung through - you can definitely follow the whole plot just by listening!

Even closed casket can make the weirdos show themselves. An uncle of mine basically drank himself to death, and we had a closed casket wake. He was a shell of himself at the end. My mom overheard a distant relative asking “did he have AIDS?” And is that why he “looked bad enough” for a closed casket? People are awful.

April 14th! I had my first one week early so in my mind I’m planning for the 7th. Hoping for a nice and easy second trimester

Yay! And same - due in April! We had a scan last week and it was crazy how much it was moving without me feeling it (yet)

So much this. Thanks for sharing your story.

She was in Private Lives on broadway, I think, so it might have been Noel Coward!

Oh my god Karen, you can’t just ask people why they’d want to starve.

Yeah European toilets can be weird. In Russia there was basically no water, so you had to poop in an empty toilet, like on the little shelf, and THEN when you flushed, water came in. It was horrifying! Haha first world problems and all that, but you don’t realize how attached you are to your known bathroom experience

I want to read that book.

I see a LOT of theatre and this production has really stayed with me. Her and Stokes singing Wunderbar, a fabulous Too Darn Hot... what a superb revival.

I mean....I think he had to get really fit for his roles? I’m not trying to defend him, I just think that was a contracted part of his job. Like when Alexander Skarsgard got absolutely shredded for Tarzan, and recently Nicole Kidman was giggling on Ellen that “he does not look like that anymore” Pratt has frequently

I feel your pain, I bought tickets during Oak’s first week, and then he bumped his dates :/

I loved it! The off broadway cast recording is streaming on amazon prime and I was glad I listened to it for a bit before going. The show is very dense, and totally sung through. It took a bit for me to really get into the music. In person, It’s a complete spectacle, happening all around you. Actors were below us, in

Agree, I don’t think it was overtly racist. I am surprised that a production that values diversity so much so badly missed the optics and sentiment on this one, though. It’s a shame they also quietly booted Britain Ashford out for Ingrid Michaelson in the same exact way, apparently. I guess the show is at least still

Because this isn’t just a replacement. They’re kicking an actor out of a role and contract to squeeze in another. Actors are replaced all the time when they finish their contracted runs and move on - they don’t get booted 3 weeks in because someone new comes along who shows an interest in a role.

His name recognition was enough to get him cast to replace groban though. If this was all just about truly big names they shouldn’t have cast him to begin with. He was good enough until producers thought they might get something even better. It’s a shame all around.
