i hate this crap, I basically get guilt tripped every time I go on vacation. Typically I save all mine, and take an entire week or two off, and its pretty much understood that i’m to work OT in the weeks before leaving to catch up on all my work that i’ll be missing. Totally defeats the reasoning for taking a week

If anyone is in the Minneapolis area, Christopher Nolan is going to be speaking at the Walker Art Center on May 5th. I wish I could go. It would be SUPER sweet

I'm non-American - this instrument can be quite easily found in my country. It is literally a ear digger. You just need to be careful not to go too close to your eardrum or to scrape the walls of your ear canal too roughly. Otherwise, it's really effective for removal and much narrower than a Q-tip.

Also with the SCARS Lifetime Guarantee they will fix it if anything fails on it due to normal use. This is the last bag you will ever buy.

Why: This thing is essentially indestructible. It has a nice large main pocket that opens up flat to you don't have to rummage around to find stuff. It also has 3 internal pockets and one external pocket to carry everything you would ever need. The stiff material makes it a comfortable bag to carry

I would agree with pretty much everything about this statement, and you might be right about this person for sure, except for the Saddleback bag. Pretty much everything they make is amazing, and I'd own one in a heartbeat if I wasn't making a grad student salary.

Well, that's from ESPACIO coworking space, from one of my "mini-lives" in Medellin, Colombia.

in my experience the bread tears from being softer than the butter (the butter is usually cold and fairly hard). i've never torn bread because of the serrated edge of the knife.

This is one way to look at it, and it's clearly true that most people spend too much money on their cars.

Unless you have a problem, there is no need to be afraid of credit cards.

6. stop allowing others to pile their emergencies on you. Someone has been slacking off and is about to miss a deadline? let them belly flop. It's not your responsibility to drop everything you are doing to help the slacker out.

I'm glad the "Cover Your Plate" BS was discussed. If I ever get involved with a silly bride that expects me to do such things, I'll skip dinner and not bring a gift. (Even if I had a great one picked)

Two days provides a more complete retreat if you want to actually "rest" or if you want to get something more substantial accomplished. I'm sure there are people who don't have any personal tasks to accomplish in their lives...but I don't know many.

I can't recommend Explosions In The Sky highly enough. Their music has a seemingly epic feel to it that makes you feel like someone has written an epic soundtrack to accompany the menial task that you are accomplishing at your desk, while the lack of lyrics helps you stay on task.
