If you have output activated speakers, like I do, then the pops are nice to turn on the speakers in a controlled manner.

Even being trained in hand-to-hand self defense doesn't remove the fact that disparity of force may exist in a self defense situation. The gun will always level the playing field.
What about the bar, when paying cash? Let's say the drink is $3.50, do you tip $1 or $0.50, or maybe even $0.25? I typically drop $1 on them if I know I'll be there a while then continue tipping $0.50.
