Is no one going to point out that on September 15, 1999, nuclear plants exploded with enough force to send the moon hurtling into deep space, where the survivors were confronted with all manner of tragedies and low budget monsters???

Decades ago, I met a young man who had pretty severe brain trauma and was mostly paralysed. He would show up to local gigs with a sign telling people not to ride motorcycles. I told him I would not, even though I was a motocrosser as a youth and enjoyed that fresh air zooming.
Sequels are for fans. If you are going to make something for fans, including fan service does not seem illogical.
Trusting in your fellow human, eeee
I worked in unionized environments. It is hard not to notice that the laziest, least professional coworkers aspired to join the union, making me pray that I would never have to use their services.
Reported for not automatically denigrating Musk sufficiently
It’s Musk, billionaire - so we can say anything we want, everything is his fault, OBVIOUSLY - but, as a small aside, I saw nothing indicating that Elon Musk does not pay ANY taxes. I would also presume that the 70 thousand employees of Tesla pay taxes.
I love everything about this except how nice it looks.
“Neutrality sides with the oppressor.” Which oppressor?
This was absolutely cringeworthy fan fic with no arc, but of course we’re watching it as a tribute to Chadwick. On that basis, I am happy they did it, and sure hope they put more effort into writing better non-hagiographies.
But if we ignore his statements we can’t comment on them in avclub
Beautiful summation of why I do not read anything that calls itself Literature. I read genre - because I am intrigued by people in extraordinary circumstances finding (or not finding) great reserves of strength and canniness. It’s not that I think you cannot make a good story out of people in tedious mundane…
A what now? Andy Ngo is a fascist?
I remember the leads looking wan and sickly and the production design being so amazing that I couldn’t want to stop watching this stupid movie and get to reading the Making Of book.
HA! Right? I think that people who think only whites are racist are so far up their own butts...my family elders disapproved of everyone and everything that wasn’t the correct version of Oriental (they never got around to learning to say “Asian”). I have to assume that liking your own (whatever that is) and fearing…
“The Yang interview is informative and Rogan’s a good listener who keeps the conversation moving. It’s overall more probative than an appearance on any other talk show, even The Daily Show, where humor is still the primary objective.”
There’s a bit of acting yes. He wasn’t really imploding if he was able to do the layering of images, sounds, and sharp editing all by himself. It was, in that sense, overwrought. However it does feel like he made a tremendous amount of stuff and got it to flow properly. I think Burnham showcased the range of his…
On one hand, I understand that white media is going through this (for them) intense reckoning/accusation-evasion mode in which they have to seek out and repent their part in The System, which no doubt leads to a melancholy, sombre tone, which even if they wished to correct it is being produced on a shoestring budget…
Do you WANT white supremacy stories to be mocked as “the sky is falling” exaggerations?
The idea that we know whether it is a good or bad bioweapon (or indeed any type of bioweapon) is a hasty conclusion. Perhaps it was a lab-created experiment for a weapon purpose, or a non-weapon purpose. If it was a weapon purpose, perhaps it escaped before it was completed, or, if it was completed, the idea was not…
