I looked on the website first and found a dealer that had one. It was a nice looking car that drives well. Maybe not $50,000 well, but well. However I wanted more than 4 seatbelts and ultimately we went elsewhere (to a cheating diesel Golf, another can o’ worms).

As a fan of weird styling - I’m the one in my family that’s always pushing for the Nissan - my hat is off to that car.

I went to a Chev dealer in town to test drive a Volt. The salesman was urging me to get a gas car because the difference in mileage would not cancel out the cost differential. Then he asked why I wanted an electric anyway. I mentioned that Tesla had sparked (sorry) my curiosity.

Yeah, well this movie critic would welcome more Ronda Rousey to movies. It’s not about aura of invincibility but physical chops to pull off complex sets in real time from medium frame. That’s why Keanu is so good in John Wick, for example, because the actor’s actual judo and gunfighting is at a high enough level that

You deserve all the heat for these puns. Not very congenial

I think cars and drugs should all be approved in the manner that sushi chefs are certified as being allowed to prepare fugu.

I learned to drive on a Mazda B1600 when I was ten, after graduating from our Massey Ferguson tractor, so I can drive stick although I am not in much practice. The family does not drive stick, and there aren’t many opportunities to learn.

I have a Subaru too. And she is beautiful to me.

But I gear down in snow all the time, using the paddle thingies.

Aren’t Buicks supposed to be GM’s Audi? As in: more expensive and padded than the base, but not stupid-expensive nor the fastest.

Buicks are purdy. Cadillacs look like origami, which is fine if you like things to look like stamped metal. Buicks are like automotive gastropubs - agreeably mild but classed up.

Damn it I just posted that. Now I feel shame

Workfare! Next step: socialism!

well, all seasons for three seasons. winter tires in winter...I don’t fool around with all seasons in the ice and snow

But in the land of the ice and snow, I want 4WD. I would have had a Subaru Tribeca, were its rear seats not designed by Torquemada

I like the TDI Touareg very well, the specs show ample power and it is not an absolute behemoth that would be hazardous in city driving. But in Canada it is a $70,000 car. For a Volkswagen??? Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha nope

I got into them via that career-spanning box set that came out when Pet Sounds remaster also came out...Long Promised Road might be top five

What is as good as a Hilux?

The judge’s decision is sidesplittingly hilarious!!!!!!
