This looks lovely.
This looks lovely.
I love this column, but I take issue with calling this a handsome vehicle. There is a kind of style-of-no-style in a utilitarian hauler, but this has geegaws and chrome all over it, to signal that you should pay more money.
Arming the opposition....? Gee, that is a scenario that hasn’t led to a whit of problems, blowback, or unintended consequences for the US of A.
What a record. Four sides, no filler - even a bonus hidden track!
Is that the new 6000SUX??? I hear they have really shitty gas mileage!!!
Now I am remembering my brown and gold velour shirt that I wore in Grade Nine....oh, there’s something in my eye....
Like the one where Ponch disdainfully views the evil punk rock scene (typified by the Go-Gos, who were probably vastly more decadent than we know, but c’mon, the Go-Gos are freaking adorable), and teaches the kids how to really party by singing “Celebration.”
Yes, was thinking of Unsafe. A great book (though how I yearn for giant fins. Ah well). And at least those were on the wheel in front of the driver, right? Easier to see. Then again, imagine jamming on the horn and throwing your car into reverse!
I enjoy the CVT in my Subaru. It defaults to find a lower rev range, for everyday economy, but has convenient little flippers at hand to manually row through (simulated) gears for when I want to downshift for passing or to save my brakes on a long downslope. Easy peasy, no drama setup.
That seems like a persuasive argument against button shifting to me. We all know what the gear shifter represents. Parking can be enough of a challenge with today’s fatter cars and paradoxically narrower underground parking slots without having to learn how to use a wholly new mechanism, one that demands that one…
Which was, in my limited understanding, actually dominant in its role whereas the F35 is thought of as a versatile, customizable, and good-enough modular airframe. Maybe it is better to get a knife and a spoon separately, rather than building a knifespoon.
Yes but I don’t find that offensive to my being. I find it scary and irritating that I have to be on my guard but it doesn’t make me not want to be a man or whatever.
At the risk of coming off like an intruder or virtue-signalling asshat, I want to make a small point as a man. I can’t stand male violence either. It doesn’t wear me down as directly, obviously, but I feel it every time I get into an elevator with a woman I don’t know. The averted eyes, the small grimace reminds me…
I adore you Jason (as a writer, although I am sure you are a fine figure of a man) so this is not about you being wrong, but how in the blue blazes can we be praising such subtle touches as distinctive wowzers?
To a point, I agree with you, but that’s just it. I agree with some things and not with others. The wholesale painting of Trump as this narcissist boob/Russian dupe/rapist/dumdum is not much different than the Trumpians railing about the godless/cuck beta/libtards. Bold strokes are fine to get attention but detail…
eeeep!
It’s supposed to be an amazing upgrade on the Harrier and a key part of Marine aviation doctrine going forward. That’s why it is fat, to allow the fan. For everything else, it is supposed to be adequate. The idea is that the missiles will do the fighting, intelligently and from far away.
The Orange One also says that he plans to increase military spending and remove the budget sequester to make that possible. He wants to bring the navy up in strength while cutting costs by closing bases in First World countries that can well afford their own defence (unless they pay thick coin to keep the US in situ).…
Now you’re talking! Built in front and back winches, full length skidplate, and optional bulletproofing from the factory with gunports and they would own the rap mogul AND hardcore STHF survival markets!
Fiat makes adorable looking cutemobiles that my wife and daughter are begging for, the Dodge minivan and Journey should own the inexpensive entry level family hauler seg,the Chrysler 300 is bout the best looking Detroit sedan I’ve seen in a decade... so, yeah, I guess I don’t know anything about car economics. To…
