You’ve disliked every superhero movie except the Nolan Batman films?  Ugh.  Seriously, I think that made me throw up in my mouth.

    This is absolutely the truth.

Ontario isn’t the only province that has Family Day.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Overwatch did fine? It had one of the biggest launches of any game, ever. It made more than a billion dollars in its first year. Now, they’re have definitely been problems sustaining anything close to that into its 3rd year, but its first year was definitely an unequivocal success.

Holy shit I did not remember that.

But Marvel is one of those IPs that Disney owns, so I’m a little confused by your response.

I didn’t forget about them; Spider-man is one recent game in almost a decade.  Telltale games are a pretty niche thing--that one I did miss.

Seriously, I did not remember that there was a Thor game.

I am purposefully distinguishing between the MCU (not necessarily direct movie tie-ins) and Marvel generally, but even without that distinction, Ultimate Alliance was a dead series until an announcement very recently, with the last game released in 2009; Spider-man 2 came out in 2004; Marvel vs. Capcom like you say

To cut EA the slimmest modicum of slack, one of the other biggest franchises on the planet, the MCU, also has complete shit in terms of video games. There was an Iron Man movie tie-in game, a Captain America 1 movie tie-in game (neither much to brag about), and since then, what? Some Lego games and a whole lot of

How is this ‘post-truth?’ Are you saying it launched to a a good reaction, or a bad one? Because I never really played beyond a brief foray to check it out, and I certainly remember it as mixed.

STOP PANDERING TO SHAMELESSLY EXPLOITATIVE BUSINESS MODELS!!

Everyone take a moment to pity the poor bastards who collectively spent 63 billion dollars on mobile games. May their impulse purchases of premium currencies and rush-to-completion builds never be forgotten.

Because these aren’t just randos; they’re professional Overwatch players.  If they want to play in this league, I’m sure ponying up what Blizzard says is part of the deal.

Diablo 3 had problems at launch, sure. But not nearly in the same league as Fallout 76. Leaked personal players’ data? Uninstalling bugs? Regular crashes and server instability? All on top of the lackluster actual gameplay, that’s a brutal combination.

Oh please, Diablo 3's launch was a light rain on a pleasant spring day compared to Fallout 76.

    Thanks Captain Pedantry!

War may never change, but Fallout keeps getting worse the longer Bethesda has this licence.

Well, I understand why gaming companies want to stop making them. Game publishers seem to think there’s one type of gamer, instead of tons of niches.
