And the anecdotal observations of one person among the 10 million Overwatch players are worth next to nothing. Go on the Overwatch forums: you’ll find tons of people complaining about McCree & Widowmaker’s nerfs, about Bastion and Torbjorn still, Mei and Roadhog even. This stealth buff to Winston, of all characters,

    Overwatch. That is all.

And your completely anecdotal evidence about Diablo 3 applies to Overwatch how? What money is being gained at the expense of player satisfaction through a supposed stealth Winston buff? Kickbacks from the super-intelligent gorilla lobby?

Pretty sure that’s not true. Blizzard has already started talking about balance issues they’re looking at, and Winston isn’t even one of the characters they’re concerned with.

No, Blizzard is not doing the same thing with Overwatch. There have been no balance changes since beta.

    I believe you’re all mistyping McRightClick’s name.

Upvoting Bastion is a sign of low moral character, poor upbringing and possible genetic defects.

Look at Mei’s smug face up there, taunting me as she freezes my poor Reinhardt.

    All Overwatch all the time.

You know that Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores are both created by accumulating the reviews of numerous professional critics, right? They don’t just make up those scores themselves.

No, it’s quite possible for someone to dislike them all. A lot of someones. I mean, there’s degrees of bad, but a genuinely good videogame movie? It hasn’t happened yet.

400 polled people is hardly conclusive, or even terribly representative of Japan’s student population.

Colour me curious, but how is a mod for a survival dinosaur game Tolkien-inspired?

Yeah, it’s a stupid theory. It’s not just plotting a line graph from a single point, it’s doing a connect-the-dots Mona Lisa from a single point. It’s not just seeing hoof prints and thinking zebra, it’s seeing hoof prints and thinking the Great God Pan riding a goddamn space unicorn. It’s the worst.

I always took it that the Targaryens are so heavily inbred that they have a ton of heavily recessive traits. The Stark traits were less dominant than the Tully ones, but more dominant than the Targaryen platinum hair & violet eyes.

But the projections for this round of VR are in the billions. And the investors in this round of VR aren’t looking for future iterations of the technology. They’re expecting money to be made soon. I think they’re going to be disappointed.

I know I’m not the first to doubt, but I think the current crop of VR isn’t going to be the sea-change some are expecting. The entry cost is too high (and for the two biggies, also dependent on having a high-end PC) and the games are pretty much banking on novelty alone at this point.

I can see why you’d make that mistake, but the key detail you’ve missed is that jokes are funny.

“Let’s piss off other gamers in a futile attempt to get back at Blizzard! That totally makes sense....”

Iron Man 2 was a critical disappointment, but not a financial one.
