While Dark Souls 3 is another From masterpiece and I’m sure you’ll very much enjoy it, I really recommend you play 1 and 2 first (if you haven’t already).

Oh wow, let’s take a step back and look at the actual story. For starters, you seem to think that the people being laid off are the ones that make games. That’s not accurate at all:

Uproar over cultural appropriation is BS 99% of the time. I think culture if too often conflated with ethnicity as well. It’s natural for culture to spread.

This game is very solo-able, don’t believe people who say otherwise. The only boss that really “needs” to be done in multiplayer is event Behemoth from FF14. And even that some people do solo.

well, you can console yourself with the fact that you at least did something useful.

The script was fantastic, too. I know some people were turned off by the pseudo-Elizabethan language, but I thought it worked really well. I also loved how they mapped different accents to different nations, like Sri Lanka to Bhujerba and Iceland to the Viera.

The English VO of 12 is one of the best parts of it next to the music and world building. Fran and Balthier were every reason to play that game turned up.

I don’t understand why people act like it’s a bad thing that it’s done through comics/shorts and not in game. Pretty much all the backstory is told through comics and shorts.
