I went to a summer camp when I was in high school. One girl sat out if multiple HP activities because she believed they promoted satanism. She and I had one hell of a debate about fiction vs reality.

I remember that feeling so clearly with HP. I was a ravenous reader to begin with, HP kicked that into an absurd level.

People are upset because they’ve been touting a women’s revolution and this was the first ever women’s MITB match. It’s not about Ellsworth interfering or Carmella “needing a man” to help her. It’s about taking the prestige of being the first woman to win away.

I understand that the defense gets to choose. I worded that poorly. If I’m ever accused of something, I’d choose a bench trial. I honestly don’t trust a jury of my “peers.”

This all depends on the parts of PA you’re in. I live in Norristown, work closer to Philly, grew up northeast of Reading. Closer to city=more liberal. It’s disturbing. Where I grew up is right wing to the extreme, where I live is a complete mix, getting progressively more left to Philly.

The problem is, jurors aren’t lawyers. I completely agree that he did it. There’s no doubt. I just don’t think the prosecution had enough to probe he did it to a jury.

I think this is where we have to separate voting behavior and political ideology. IMO, there’s a vast difference between voting for Trump and actually supporting him.

I wish I had home ec. My mom did a great job teaching me most of that stuff, but I would have LOVED to learn to use a sewing machine. I still think about how much I’d love to be able to make clothes based on MY MEASUREMENTS!
