Sure they did, you’re just looking in the wrong places!

Same here. We’re even going so far as getting a place with a tandem garage as we wait for the right time to snatch one up. And this is from a couple in their 30s who never considered a Corvette as a serious purchase. Even though we've always kinda like bits from every generation. This one just did it...

I encourage you to drive one. The MK6 is not within spitting distance at ALL. If a MK7 R struggles let’s be real... There’s a good comparison from Motortrend between this, the RS, Golf R, and STI RA...I think it properly captures the notion of looking past a spec sheet. But let’s say you took a then-new Wolfsburg MK6

Yeah I understand mileage will vary, and tbh my experience did not deter friends from buying their own GTIs and enjoying them with zero problems so far. The whole point to this comment is that years ago I was in the same boat, calling out those who said VWs were unreliable...then irony struck. Either way I’m thankful,

Hard to say whether the earlier ones were better or worse, a few peeps in the forums had the same recurring issues I had (leaking coolant pumps and weird gremlins with the fuel system) and they were both newer or older. Mine was a 2013. Replaced coils too but more as a precaution early on. Since those were notorious

I get that. And I’m honestly glad they’ve worked out for you. I was gutted when at 25k miles the electrical system had an issue and the ECU was allegedly fried. I really liked that little red hatch, and I actually thought the DSG was brilliant despite what some complain about (rough shifts at times and the jittering

He shoots and he misses... 30s, but hey you must be in your early teens if you think others’ opinions are THAT important to your day to day or purchase decisions. Also, the best thing about the internet is how little relevance it has to any actual conversations I’ve had with other enthusiasts at the track...but hey

The problem is as much as we’d all like to pretend they’ve gotten THAT much better some of us actually got burnt. My MK6 experience pretty much killed how good the MK7s could be and probably never going back. The fact that the EA888 family still has HPFP and water pump issues is just sad. The Type R and Veloster are

I don’t need to go to Japan. I literally own a contemporary design from there that gets a lot of flak as it is. ‘Of the setting’ or not the Predator maw just doesn't work on any car.

Counterpoint. I own a Type R. Different take on the subject but I’m all about the Japanese aesthetic, crazy angles and mecha inspiration are appreciated but the Predator maw is still not it.

I’d say Mr Houston just needs to pony up for the 2019 with line lock, no more wheel hop during burnouts. He can get the WB Scat pack for about 5-7 grand more...brand new:

Why tho? Looks interesting sure, if you can get past the Predator maw and then you realize most of the odd vent-like details the new Supra gets dinged for were taken right off this car. Interior is still very Lexus and the wheels should have stayed in the concept. Definitely interesting but not without flaws.

I wouldn’t go as far as sterile. A 718GTS is still just about the best car I’ve tracked...just missing a bit of something (besides a proper soundtrack). But yeah mid engine ‘purists’ cars are criminally fee to choose from and I definitely see more Evoras than 4Cs in the past half decade. Hard to blame those buyers.

I hate to call it that especially after seeing the cool things that go into the assembly process but yeah I think that is why we’re ultimately in agreement. I’m sure other than the dozens of happy Alfa owners, hundreds others had this same conversation with themselves. It’s cool but not enough...always a footnote, an

Rent one first. It’s a great third or fourth car!..that should give you an idea of the overall experience. That said yeah take a peek at Auto trader. Saw one not long ago for just under 40k.

A Cayman is the complete opposite in that it basically has no quirks and is less exciting actually. Still overall better but the Alfa definitely has more character and sound than the current 718. Of course it’s hard to disagree why it destroys the Alfa in sales. Character is good on the weekends,on a good mountain road

It is amazing to drive. Truly an occasion, especially with the optional exhaust and with the soft top off. I dare say more fun than a 718 GTS (too much of an honor roll + top athlete at times). However I don’t think I’d actually own one. The manual steering and stupidly low seating position is a hard sell for those

They’re not Jedi hunters...they just happened to meet the Jedi under unfortunate circumstances and bad blood brewed. Fast forward they were at war for a long time. You’re entitled to dislike the concept of the Mandos, But if your only source is an out of context Wookiepedia quote I suggest you dig deeper. Also the epis

You basically described what everyone already knows. Once again what are you on about?

I usually only kicks in in Sport or other more aggressive modes do yes you can technically turn it off. As for the second part of that question...what are you on about? If you’re saying what I think you are you must have some small feet or very spaced out pedals...rarely are you going to use the literal heel of your
