I’d argue the M2 Comp on track doesn’t have noticeable lag (was a fairly tight track too)…neither did the 718 GTS with a PDK (handling course at PCE ATL). Autocross is a bit more of and oddball scenario, courses sometimes don’t flow that well.

Absolute highway bruiser for sure. Sport mode gets the back end loose just enough on hard takeoffs and the curves. 600 miles in one recently, would strongly consider one for the house if it looked better and had Android auto. I also found the navigation and split screen to be frustrating. Still, one of the best BMW…
Nothing to do with articles. Try shopping for a more niche car with a following (I’m actively looking for a C8 or a Veloster N and it’s definitely not straightforward). No offense but I can’t think of a single desirable car from GMC where people are being pitted against others to pay over sticker. All anecdotal sure…
Blame some of the initial YT reviews (specifically the straight pipes). I took them with a giant grain of- salt.
5 heat exchangers = lots air intake surface needed.
Not a great look on all cars but completely understandable.
The Z06 and Zl1 come to mind as well...
You wont like the gas mileage that’s for sure. The new Hybrid may not sound great but initial impressions have it at packing quite the grunt and potentially having Prius levels of gas mileage...
I’ll have to see instrumented tests before believing that last one though.
NOTHING can be had at MSRP right now. Not sure if you’ve checked recently but almost every segment has low stock and the ones that are stocked are usually a whole other price once you get to the dealership. Considering the old TRD PRO went for around 50k before COVID and dealerships still tried the whole ‘limited’…
This. Anyone expecting such a bargain for a German car (or really any car from that vintage) should expect a world of hurt within weeks of driving it off the lot...
That said I’m still a bit apprehensive about recommending a GTI in general, all anecdotal of course. But my MK6 kind of fell apart right around the the…
Tell us you don’t watch a lot of racing without telling us…
It’s a mixed bag. Tesla does not directly compete in any motorsports series, sprint or endurance, if we want to use that card.
Nah, not really applicable. I know this is a very subjective thing but most could agree that the Wedge look is basically reserved for anything derived from the Giugiaro school of design and typically only found in cars from the 70s-90s with an engine behind the driver. If you’re going to go with a slowish but reliable…
If you’re coming from an S2K just skip these and go straight for the Type R. The K20C1 is a peach, been pretty reliable as long as you’re not trying to boost it to the moon without reinforcing the internals. Transmission is great and not difficult at all for daily duty. Yes it’s not a high revving unit like its…
Its a 3100 pound car though. Time moved on, 150 hp doesn’t feel good on anything above the weight class of Miata. Adding lightness is what all modern cars are missing...
Probably not...by now you probably know this was a zero day attack on a pretty popular type of network appliance, right? If not, I’d check with your threat-intel/ITSec guys if they’re open to that sort of shop talk outside their group. They may have already gotten more info than what you’ll find on the Jalopnik…
No problem. It’s a bit pricey since its paid per event 160-300 dollars per day depending on organization and partnerships (ie. Hagerty runs a discounted rate for SCCA’s Track Night in America, but it may definitely be a day-saver.
Have fun Elizabeth! Funny thing, my first track day was in Spartanburg for a BMW Experience drive and then it just spiraled form there. Questions for you for after the event:
-Did you also have more fun flogging ‘lesser’ non performance models around the track than the M models? (I liked the F80 sorta...but was…
I’d argue that certain tracks have a bit more risk built in. Think Road Atlanta and anything with higher speed banking. I’d get it if available, especially for noobs like myself.
If it’s available get it.
Nice shots Mr Brownell!
How many F Paces and Evoras have you bought though?
