It’s not that moderates aren’t worth working with. It’s that moderates continually give the hard right every single thing it wants, no matter what the moderates’ alleged principles actually are or what they told the left to bring them on board in the first place. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me every single

It’s more like decades of American political discourse alternating between milquetoast center-left reformism and hard-right extremism (which along the way produced such bipartisan efforts as the Iraq War, deregulation, and destruction of the social safety net) led to Trump, who isn’t the aberration he’s made out to be

If nothing else, I think you’re proof positive that we’re fucking doomed

Newsflash, homie. The centrist Dems were the ones to pass banking deregulations, social service guttings, pushing for immigrant deportation under Slick Willy, and even recently voted in huge number to pass the Blue Lives Matter act.

Yeah, but just falling in line is only going to result in more and more of those moments only inflicted by an ever rightwards shifting Democrat party who will tell us it is for our own good. At least the GOP don’t expect us to be grateful for pro-corporate and regressive rulings and legislation. A democrat who doesn’t

Well, they can jolly well go fuck themselves. I toed the line in ‘16, carried water for the party but I live in a solid Blue state and I am gonna cast a fuck you vote in the Primary and hope. If King Shit wins, well I will hold my nose and vote for him, but I will be damned if I am gonna do as I am told like before.

plus he took noted conservative ghoul Sheldon Adelson to the fucken woodshed on that Vegas stadium deal

Oh yea, compared to most owners Davis is likable. I just don’t think he’s trolling anyone, he likes the things he likes.

You have to ask the right people. Barely anyone cared about NFL last I worked in Japan (two years ago) but I did stumble upon an NFL fan in Tsukuba who recognized my Steelers jacket. Next time I went to his restaurant, I brought him some swag!

I didn’t realize HD employees didn’t get a discount. That’s nuts. The only reason I worked at Lowes for two years was that sweet 20% Employee discount on special order items. Lowes has vendor arraignments with pretty much everybody on the planet so you can order virtually any product on special order.

This is why municipalities need to protect workers. Corporations aren’t going to do it. The federal government isn’t going to do it.

Dude, the gun charge was reduced to a misdemeanor by the judge and she stated that it was legally purchased in another state. Also, how many active players have been busted for weed?

You know, for most dumb policies I can understand a rational reason for it. I don’t get “no tips” policies. It doesn’t cost the company anything for employees to accept tips, and it keeps the employees happier. It’s good customer service because the customer *wants* to tip.

They don’t like capitalism. Do you think that they would be cool if you were to intercept their shipments, pay $0.10 more per product then sell at $0.10 less than Home Depot in the parking lot across the street because you don’t have the overhead? Fuck no. They would lose their minds. They don’t even let the

It seems likely to me that the judge saw that the alleged victim was not cooperating with the prosecutors, and felt it would be a waste of time to proceed. If a video exists, I’m not really interested in taking someone else word for what it shows.

I never said I was convinced of anything. In fact, the opposite. I think we’d all be better off if all of the evidence was presented.

I don’t understand what you’re getting at.

Ah yes, that’s the problem. We take violence against women TOO seriously now. Why didn’t someone tell Roger Goodell not to read the comments on Deadspin? WHY, I ask!

I don’t actually know what happened here, but in a similar situation, what is the appropriate action for an officer to take, just let everyone go who starts to run?

They didn’t pin her down for fare evasion. They pinned her down for not stopping and trying to avoid a lawful, brief detention for a citation.
