I think he likes Sanders out in front of the press way too much to move her.

Are you a hardcore Niner fan or did you jump on the bandwagon when they became good? I’m asking because there are some NFL teams with long histories of frustration but they have great fan bases. Bills, Lions, Chargers, Bears, Browns, Raiders, Chiefs, Vikings... It’s not “pretty fucking hard” for those fans to “stay…
I want to get rid of it because:
TLDR version: the Niners suck, I watched fewer games than the year before.
Yes, how such along piece can overlook perhaps the biggest factor amazes me: Over-saturation. The NFL can’t be a must see event if it’s in your face 24/7.
I think 90% is hyperbole, but I think that statement is closer to the truth than a lot of people would be willing to admit. The NFL has a real problem looming. If nothing else it’ll be fun to watch the billionaire owners attempt to eat one another in the final act.
Once it stops being part of American culture, viewership/attendance will go way down. 90% of the people that claim they watch football, aren’t really watching and are there because its a social thing where people get together to eat, drink and socialize. The game is completely secondary.
I like the trappings of football more than I love the actual game. At this point, it would be hard to argue that the product hasn’t deteriorated now that they are both creating new rules to adapt to the dangers of the game, while being unable to actually remove the dangers of the game. But I like the idea of staying…
I got nothing from this story other than, “I used to love something and now I’m not into it anymore.” I totally get her point but don’t know why she thought it deserved 2,000 words.
So you were into it when you were living in the home market of a good team. Then you moved and the team got bad (really bad) and you stopped paying attention, and you’re framing it as some sort of existential question. Got it.
I’m really interested to see what the NFL would look like as a niche product. More than any other, it thrives as a spectacle. Big stadium, big lights. Everything is monumental. It’s already weird seeing how they try to cover up the half filled stadiums. What happens when the Super Bowl becomes optional for sports…
If I have children one day, I’d like to tell them I acted on principle and turned away from a sport so detrimental to the people who break their bodies across brief and brutal careers that mostly serve to enrich their billionaire employers
What is it about blogging that makes people use so many words to say that they don’t care (or are beginning not to care in this case) about something?
I mean, “Dallas Braden” is a white-assed name. It’s just a little on the nose. Like if George Lucas were responsible for naming the shittiest pitcher ever to throw a perfect game.
When two of these teams play, they should switch sides of the court so the teams are shooting at the wrong basket. Then they could play a normal basketball game, except the winner would actually be the loser.
Most agree that the brain doesn’t finish developing until the age of 25, and therefore it is at that age that men and women should be considered adults.
Calling a 9-year old child a man is not only biologically incorrect, it is insane. If you honestly think this, you have little to no experience with children.
The NBA isn’t trying to break into the upper echelon of professional basketball leagues which already consists of numerous far superior non-American leagues.
Pro/rel has its supporters and detractors, but one reason MLS is so resistant to it is because of its structure as a single entity, which it seems clear is…
After many months of ardent campaigning and intense pressure from those inside and especially outside the American…
California is liberal by population (L.A., S.F.) which is why it is hard for Republicans to capture statewide office. But, by area, California is more conservative (think Central California, IE, Orange County and San Diego). However, because of less density, they just don’t have the votes.
