The Warriors are just mad because their Joe Smith never delivered them to the promised land.

knowingly charged attendees thousands of dollars to be “stranded on a remote island” with “little more than bread and a slice of cheese.”
I disagree. He works the ND games but that’s because he’s an NBC guy. Mayock went to BC.
I’m just talking about his on air commentary. If he’s not licking the league’s boot, he’s droning on through some “well back in my day...” anectdote without a point. He and Michaels are like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Collinsworth may or may not know his stuff, but he is an absolute chore to listen to.
Collinsworth is bad. Mayock is good.
NFL Network draft coverage hosts have had it with the NFL turning this weekend into a circus, with Mike Mayock only…
Aldon Smith called and said...
You’re giving them crap for using a lie detector test? They actually tried to determine the reality of the situation themselves and you’re not satisfied. Do you have a better suggestion than ‘not drafting him at all’?
I think the team wants to know whether or not they will be able to use the player they are spending guaranteed money on. I don’t think they care if he is guilty (in the moral sense). I do think they rationally care as to whether or not they will be paying for a guy who won’t be able to play for him.
Not to pick sides on the issue, because it’s horrific if Conley did it and horrible if the woman is falsely accusing him.
I disagree. If you are trying to figure out if a guy is worth drafting, whether or not you want him is irrelevant. It is whether or not you think the results would indicate that he will spend his contract length in jail while you pay him 70% of that guaranteed money.
PR only matters if this were Joe Mixon and the crime had already been charged/adjudicated, it’s nuts to think the Raiders and their Executive of the Year would blow a 1st round pick if they thought there was non-infinitesimal chance that Conley is actually in legal jeopardy.
If he becomes a HOF QB, you obviously won’t mind losing a few third round picks. But I don’t think that’s going to happen. And there’s no way in hell the 49ers were sitting at 2, planning on drafting this kid, but were swayed by two thirds and a fourth. So he would have been there at 3, which makes the trade stupid.
“A polygraph tester who has an incentive to clear that individual so his employer can draft him would determine that was just a sign of anxiety, not dishonesty.”
But it’s not in the interest of the team to clear the prospect by asking softball questions; there has to be other evidence/leaks from the PD indicating that in all likelihood he’s not even going to be charged. Regardless of their inadmissibility, it’s still being used in employment situations constantly, meaning the…
No one said a polygraph test was the only due diligence performed (regardless of its evidentiary value in court), and you have no idea (nor do I) what due diligence was performed. And no one can argue the contrary either. I don’t expect straw man arguments from you, Barry.
Absolutely no way in hell the Niners were taking Trubisky at 2. If they believed he was a franchise QB, it would have taken a lot more than a third and a fifth to pry the pick away given how highly even decent QBs are valued in the NFL. Once you establish that as the groundwork for a deal, you’re better off calling…
Leave it to the Bears to make the first hard right turn, then barrel at full speed through the stupidity wall before anybody else.
Here’s some more reaction from Chicago!
