Davis is one of the few owners who isn’t a billionaire...still richer than most of us can ever hope to be, but not rich enough to fund an entire stadium project on his own. Either way the city of Oakland shouldn’t pay for it. The NFL should.

I always thought it was widely understood that Mark Davis is not a billionaire and is actually cash-poor. Since he has no ventures outside of football, his net worth is tied directly to the Raiders.

How much he cares is determined by his ability to convince? How does that work?

You don’t like the common NFL practice of using public money to finance stadiums so you use Mark Davis, the only owner who showed up and showed he cared at all about the city he’s in as your punching bag? Seems like a cheap way to make your point to me.

I don’t want to defend him too much, but Mark Davis is way out of his league wealth wise compared to the other owners. His major asset is the Raiders and it is where he gets most of his wealth.

I’m a Raider fan and was sort of following on Twitter. According to a reporter one of the people in attendance told Mark Davis to “go up to Sacramento and see how Kevin Johnson was able to do it [for the Kings].”

Are the Raiders really a “mega-rich team”? Not that I think a single cent of public money should go to pro sports facilities.
