Rasing gas tax doesnt get EVs to pay for their road usage....don’t get me wrong i dont want to report mileage driven to the DMV every year. I dont think this perfect answer but it’s a start.

Oregon is also starting a pay per mile tax for their state roads taxes. Still you dont pay Federal fuel taxes. The taxes for the roads also have to be fixed but Tesla isn’t helping.

The loans was give at subsidized rates. The government shouldn’t be in this business. They also still give tax breaks to the rich for buying a Tesla. Then they ruin the roads with their heavy ass EVs and don’t pay any road Taxes. The time will come for electric cars the government doesn’t need to force it.

Not only do they need the help to build them, they need help to sell them and drive them. Tax breaks for purchases and they don’t pay road taxes....How are these companies not the enemy. They give taxpayers money to the rich while using the roads for free.

About damn time We dont need to subsidize these companies. Elon can raise VC money and has enough of his own. If people won’t buy electric cars with out tax breaks then maybe they aren’t ready for mainstream and that’s OK. Electric car will happen we dont need to force it.
