f*cking seriously. If the majority of the auto industry was dumb enough to not have any chip stock (I think Toyota is the only exception) than they are absolutely dumb enough to completely over correct and flood the market once the factories can run at full speed again. This whole thing is going to be flipped at some

Soft disagree. Not that they don’t look great in that color, but I’d say the quintessential colors are red for the C2 (thanks Prince), and British Racing Green for the E-Type.

Did the embargo lift on both of this and the Bronco this morning? Or did you guys have the idea to do both the Wrangler-killers at once? Regardless, been a fun day of reading while my boss is off.

I don’t care if the DB5 is the only one in it’s truest color, that is a fucking insane collection. That is every homerun from the 60's, save for maybe a Ferrari 250 or Daytona, perhaps the first 911 if you’re so inclined. But god damn, the fact it’s such a small “collection” is part of what makes it so cool.

A recent inspection by the city found that it’s taking on water due to not having a bilge pump.”

Not only that, but people would be a lot less forgiving of the lack of power in a “premium brand” than in the Toyabru.

I’d hazard that while the the Tmaster has more base FF “volume” than the Fanatec, the direct drive is going to have a lot clearer feed back. If anything, this comparison drives home the accepted truth that direct drive wheels are better, just a lot more expensive (I’ve only used belt-drive but I am taking most of the

that looks fantastic, but god damn, feels like sacrilege their won’t be the scream from a 4-ish liter flat plane V8 coming out of it.

Ehh, I’d say they are equally committed to both paths. They’ve diversified because they know their original revenue stream is based on a finite resource, while simultaneously protecting pro-oil standards and regs because that’s where the most money is right now.

The shape is great, but good lord, is there a LOT of design going on there.

Agree wholeheartedly. A cloth seat in a car from the early 2000's feels like a throne relative to a current cloth seat. My friends 15 year old Altima has comfier cloth seats than my ‘16 Tacoma did.

Something about this spec has the vibes from the 2008 Speed Racer movie and i freaking LOVE it.

On the list of random things the world could not possibly go on without, competent tugboat crews are fairly high.

I agree with the principle, but I wouldn’t underestimate a handsome, high-end vehicle with the right price. Especially when more of Elon’s and his cult’s shit-headedness is bleeding out of car culture and into the mainstream. Plus, at this point, Tesla’s been around for long enough that getting the next startup’s car

Indeed, it sounds like Brian from RCR doing his SUBARU bit.

true, but the MAX was a special case. Boeing was still in engineering review on whether they were better off mounting bigger engines further back or just designing a new plane with new wing locations around bigger engines. A/A (or was it United?) made the decision for them when they ordered a baker’s dozen.

5th gear: Fun fact, this whole idea of placing an order for a thing that doesn’t exist yet to make someone produce it is how we wound up with the 737MAX, a plane with way bigger engines than a 737 was ever supposed to have and a computer that can’t figure out how to keep it from stalling on approach.

Texted it to a Japanese friend from college. Duke-Boys is the first 4+4 characters. He said it only works because “Duke” had it’s own word already, would have been much weirder if it were an actual Latin proper noun.

Exactly. It’s the (unintentional?) genius of Democracy. Everyone is so handcuffed in this approach it’s difficult for any one person or faction to hijack the whole thing. The downside is it’s difficult to make sweeping change.
