All audio and HVAC controls need to be physical buttons/knobs whose function does not change, and are never more than 1' from your hands when they are at 10 & 2.

JLR being hopelessly unreliable is the worst kept secret of all time. Ferrari literally figured out acceptable levels of reliability before they did.

I would buy just about all these arguments if it was not the literal Chief of the actual Cherokee tribe saying this. When people request a cultural change on behalf of someone else, that’s annoying woke-ness. When it’s the people themselves asking for it, that’s valid and needs to be listened to. You don’t get to

I like the idea, but the name is a little odd. Sorta implies that the only “tech” worth talking about and breaking down in the auto industry is EV’s. Which I mean, yeah, their kind of all the rage right now, but there’s also so much to talk about and breakdown in cars that doesn’t have anything to do with having an

Indeed, and while EV’s are already much further along than this stuff, getting to keep existing infrastructure around for this stuff would be a huge boost in support.

This wholeev startup grift” (patent pending) is eventually going to devolve into people just publishing sketches with specs scribbled on then, and then have an IPO the following week.

this... rules?

This is so genius it’s giving me a hysterical breakdown. It would legitimately work so fucking well and would be the most pointed exercise in Tesla Stan brain mush, it’s not even funny

Where in the name of Dale Earnhardt do you live that this is a problem? Can that many assholes really live in one place?

My mechanic told me there was still a quart and a half in it when I left it with him, and I was only getting a low oil pressure light when the revs got below 750, so thankfully I was never running it flat out dry.

Good info. I’m gonna call and tell the manager what happens. Don’t really care if I’m getting anything free or not.

I mean, if we are including waiting an hour in line for the finance department once the handshake is made, then yeah, literally everyone who has used a dealership in the last 10 years is gonna have a detainment story.

Neutral: Made the mistake of using one of those valvoline drive-through places for an oil change on my 10 year old, 160k mile, 4runner (stop throwing things, not everyone has the time or space to do it themselves even if they have the know-how) and wouldn’t you know it, they screwed up the filter install and it puked

Yeah, “optimistic” might have been better word choice. It’s probably that combined with some error in the pipes, when the pump cuts out, etc.

FWIW, on newer cars refueling with the engine running can get you a check engine light for large EVAP leak.

Indeed. I question whether there’s some error factor to the manual calculation we don’t know about, or if they genuinely program them to lie.

Yup. Love using it to track raw fuel mileage and see if it lines up with what the car is telling you. I briefly drove a ‘16 Tacoma that egregiously lied about it’s mileage.

I had the same deal with my first car (my account’s namesake). I used to just fill it up once the trip got past 200, which to this day I still don’t know what fraction of the tank it was, it was just what my dad told me to do.

We already had a 150 AMP Breaker Box right next to where the Leaf gets parked and had a new plug installed where the existing outlet was there for a Welder.

Give me the F50 just for the NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 memories.
