If the police were so badly outnumbered to the point they couldn’t do their jobs why did they turn down offers of more manpower?

Oof, this is true but it’s worth mentioning how much of big investing is made up of retirement/pension funds for unions. A union plumber might not “own” any stock, but the stock market still has an impacts him.

Bingo. Stadium parking at the United Center in Chicago puts all the BOF SUV’s and trucks in the back, which is the furthest from the stadium but has the easiest out. Kind of a negative feedback loop there because even in the winter, I’d happily walk in the cold a bit more if it meant I didn’t have to sit in the jam on

That’s my point. There should be some sort of inconvenience for the owner/driver that matches up to the inconvenience for everyone else.

I meant engaging as actively trying to stop an armed crowd that outnumbered capitol police by like 15 to 1.

I say this at least once in every political discussion.

Nailed it. It looks like it belongs on a digital homescreen, not stamped to sheetmetal.

Not disagreeing with any of that, but choosing not to engage with *everyone* in the building is a calculated risk at that point.

and the fact they won’t let the WHO in to do the necessary forensic work on the outbreak hints that they probably bungled the response.

I’ve seen a bunch of bad arguments defending that piece of junk, but this is probably the only one I’m cool with.

Fair point, but letting these dopes run around aimlessly throughout the building is essentially a de-escalation tactic. There’s a point where dispatch realizes that you don’t have the numbers to keep this crowd from overwhelming the building, and your better off locking down the VIP’s and trying not to provoke the

There’s such a small difference between the Durango and GC, I frequently forget that the Durango even exists. I still automatically think of a closed-bed Dakota from 2001 when I hear Durango.

You’re goddam right it was. It was just a victim of the fact that most people would prefer a bigger car with a meh interior than a smaller car with a premium* interior.

Oh god yeah. I leased the fully redesigned 2016 model for three years, and the mileage was a huge disappointment.

Bingo. It’s not just about being bad, it’s also supposed to be about being so much better than good.

Indeed. Don’t own one at the moment, but do love me a big ‘ole truck. I guess I get the sentiment that their should be somewhat of penalty for ownership given how much of a nuisance they are for the rest of the world. Restricting ownership to only people who either need one or really want one would be good for

Not only that, but big trucks are the true successors to the land yachts. The only way you can get a living room-sized cabin to ride around like the old Panthers and B-Bodies is with a crew cab pickup, a BOF SUV, or *maybe* a full-size crossover. I can verify this from the brief time 6 years ago I worked in a Chevy

Yeah, fair point. I look at the whole thing as a sort of bizarro-restomod more than anything else. Just having all the internals meticulously optimized under older, less gratuitous sheetmetal.

Again, hard to compare to this. If they had been that aggressive with a crowd as much bigger and stupider as it was yesterday, it probably would have been a much uglier scene. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a conscious decision to have all the VIP’s bunker down while they just let the dopes run around to their

I honestly forgot that there is still a Durango twin for the Grand Cherokee. For some reason I still think of the Dakota based Durango first.
