If possible, I’d just pull the fuse for the air bag out. The thing is imported as a classic anyway. Treat is as such.

I actually take a more cynical approach that there are some “investors” who think that the merely giving off the impression that you are developing a self-driving car is worth the impact on the stock price, regardless of your ability to actually produce L5 autonomy.

Hyundai does these commercials for their whole lineup. I was having this exact conversation with some friends while watching football yesterday. My friends are the furthest thing from car people you can imagine, and even they were smart enough to go, hey maybe you shouldn’t be taking selfies while driving you fucking

1st Gear: Uber being told by the investors to not give up on developing a technology they are clearly incapable of successfully completing = The part in The Producers where Max and Leo realize people actually like Springtime for Hitler.

I don’t think we can ever have a vehicle or scenario that is 100% safe all the time.

NP if for no other reason, any car from Arizona without any obvious faults is automatically NP.

Wholeheartedly agree. Maybe it’s because I grew up with it as my original idea of a sports car, but the C5 was such a clean and simple design. It’s the most quintessentially late 90's design, but is also unmistakably a Corvette.

Hard disagree. Always thought the taller and flatter look of the C6's keister was a step back from this shorter, curvier one.

Who in the name of Tom Petty asked for that shifter mechanism?  Who decided that we should have a race to see who could come up with the most convoluted way to shift an automatic?

That was one of my finest days in college. I was actually so drunk by about noon that I vomited into trash can in front of a cop, passed out, woke up, and was actually sober and completely fine by 7pm for what wound up being one of the greatest games I ever watched (Oregon 2015).

Seeing a blimp for the first time is actually a really weird experience. It’s one of those things where you know what it is, but you never realize you haven’t seen one in person until you actually do, its such a weird flying object that its really gives off an odd sensation. I think its because you expect a flying obje

Woah. Reread that and confused myself.

Yeah, I’m not sure if there is anything out there that is not solely brake-by-wire.

Yeah, but that’s all you need to compete in that segment. Once the boring generic crossovers show up on the lot, NPC’s spawn around the corner and just start walking into the showroom.

Seriously, just had this conversation with my dad who has worked in tech his whole life. Even the nicest computers are practically commodity items now.

Bingo. At some point, battery prices will allow an EV model on something like an Accord to be a premium like upgrading to a V6. That is when the “EV revolution” will actually be here.

You say that, but the resale values on those things are hilarious. Boomers can’t get enough of them. It’s the only option for retirees who want an open top that is spacious the way that most crossovers are.

Seriously, the resale values of that Crossover convertible Nissan did a few years ago are hilarious. It’s the biggest whole in the market right now.

I was on the verge of getting one to be a beater commuter earlier this year, but in the end, what wound up holding me back was the stigma. I had ZERO clue their was an army of freaks out there who get off on faking being a cop before i started looking. I remember looking up videos for how to remove the spotlight once
