Ehh, while it is just supposed to be a beater, I’m a little conscious of the “Old Man Car” aspect of it. At least that’s how my dad is trying to talk me out of it. Getting it in black makes it unmistakably an old Limo Service car.

At some point in the last 3-4 years, everyone decided that the best internet memes are the most pointless ones that make the least sense. I’m 25, and I don’t get it either.

Yeah, ik its a tad much for a “beater” but you literally cannot get more car for the money, and it really isn’t that much more than an acutal crap-can commuter. Why not roll around in the living end of 20th century American Opulence?

Not related to anything in here but posting this in the morning shift because it seems like the right place for it.

Indeed, crash safety is a complete wild card. But somebody who wants a convertible version of a car that isn’t a convertible that badly probably doesn’t care.

Agreed. Like I said, I would never trust it with something already as heavy as a Challenger.

Mostly agree, but there are some outfits that do a very good/legit conversion. It’s hard to say from what we see here if that is the case. And I’d be particularly nervous with a Challenger because it already is so goddamn heavy in the first place, who knows what sort of changes actually have to be made to make it

Idea for someone who is better at computers: The astronaut meme of “always has been” except earth is a Bronco, and the astronaut about to be shot is a Blazer.

Regardless of the engine choice, I’d never comfortably tow anything significant above like 40 on that short of a wheelbase. This really isn’t the truck for towing anything north of a small fishing skiff.

This was my first thought too! If you go 1st crawler gear on that thing, will it be even visibly moving?!

Self importance. It’s the blight of the age.”

Yeah, unfortunately that’s a lot of minimum/low wage jobs getting canned.

Here here. Until someone shows me the data that the total number of pedestrian strikes has not risen significantly, I’m not going to be convinced that distracted driving isn’t the bigger reason for the 53% increase in deaths (although still not the only reason).

What this study is trying to say (although its sample size is too small to say much) is that if you get hit by an SUV, it is more likely to kill you than a car would.

LOL, preaching to choir, pal. I once had someone on here tell me I was opposed to CAFE simply for pointing out it’s the reason why the land yachts are gone, and why all the biggest comfiest cars are trucks now. Not that it’s a good or bad thing, just that its a big reason for it. Are we better off because of CAFE? Of

Ooof, normally I’d agree with that line of thinking, but in this situation I tend to default to my father who has handled hiring at a big corporation for 30 years. He finds that in just the last handful of years, entry level candidates’ ability to do simple social tasks like make small talk and maintain consistent eye

This was really powerful to watch. Kinda fun to think whatever dope put the noose there is going to wind up making this movement stronger than if he hadn’t.

Absolutely. Of all the jobs that can be done at home, teaching/learning probably is not one of them.

That’s a bit of a harsh way of putting it, but not wrong. Modern machining makes it tough for internal bits to fail early even if the are using every ounce of compression the octane will let them. But to that point, the best engines out there at the moment aren’t a close to the most efficient hp/displacement.

In a weird way, the Floyd protests were the golden opportunity to begin the process of trying to eject this crowd from NASCAR. I’m pretty sure the executive team has probably wanted to do it for a few years now, but they really could not have asked for a better situation to do it.
