I think you're exaggerating the worst-case a bit. Winking in and out mid-explosion won't ever happen. It's more likely that if the connection isn't there well before the calculations are needed, it's recalculated locally; it just might not be as heavy.

You break down Microsoft into subgroups to try and refute my 2nd point? What?

If anyone — anyone — in gaming can get cloud computing figured out, is Microsoft who's been in the server business for a while; hell, who's main business is computing technology, and not video games. I'm not gonna sit here and use EA's SimCity rollout to call "bullshit" on a company who's more well versed in the

Then the heavier lifting probably won't be as heavy and will still be done, just on console.

+1 to you.

I'd say my name, 'cause it was only until recently I myself had realized how cool it was. ;)

Try "software engineer that actually knows shit about cloud computing."

Yeah, no. There's probably been twice where I've been unable to get on XBL. Individual games, on the other hand, are a different story — they all don't run on Microsoft's servers.

You really can't talk about cloud computing here since none of the people commenting have no idea how it works, and just spout off stuff.

The calculations are done way ahead of time, held in the cloud. Data packets for that are very small, so throughput wouldn't be a problem. It's more about the ping.

1. SimCity was completely different from the application going on here.

Lots of Titanfall fans were disappointed this week when a rumored sequel wasn't announced.

You're all being douches. Sorry your "geek hobby" is now mass consumed, and now you have to resort to elitism for some sense of importance.

Yeah whatever. Make more JRPGs with Kingdom Shader, please.

Too bad that's never actually happened. Ever.

It's either they don't show anything at all 'cause if it isn't gameplay you don't wanna see it, or you take the CGI trailers with the thought that they're not showing you some crappy alpha footage that you'll hate anyway — or if you end up liking it everyone will cry about the expectations it set if it's not up to

Yeah, I made a point to listen very closely for the "exclusively" dropped in there. It wasn't. So...

I'm thinking most of you guys commenting have terrible expectations.

YES. GIVE ME MASS EFFECT.

a;dlfjadf;lkajf YES. MASS EFFECT'S SCI-FI GOODNESS.
