Like some others said, I think a good rule of thumb is 2 generations ago. Growing up 2D, I have a bit of a mental hangup about calling a 3D system retro, but I think 2, maybe 3 at the most would qualify something as retro, if you don't count short-cycle systems like the WiiU - I don't think the WiiU would make the

I've used a simple haptic gaming chair for 6-7 years now. It's a really simple design, sort of in the vein of the Aura "Interactor" vests, but a lot stronger. It's basically an adjustable office chair, with an Aura (hey, same guys - never noticed that...) "Bass Shaker" tactile transducer puck on the bottom, wired to a

I wasn't thinking it looked that serious, though I did jot it out in the middle of the night before bed. I always write walls of text, but what I saw in my post was just:

Sorry - I just match the tone and respect level of the discussion when responding to a comment. If it's polite, I'm polite; if I'm flamed, I flame back. I thought it was mostly just the facts, except for pointing out his antagonistic angle at the start, and drawing an analogy to illustrate it at the end.

Haha, really? It's not like I was really mad about it, just annoyed at the smug confrontational tone he took, so I addressed each point.

When you come out and assert that someone's playing a game wrong because they're playing it how it was designed, that's just belligerent, trolling, and ignorant. If it was phrased simply as a reflection on what worked for you, it'd be an interesting talking point to discuss, but attacks lead to defense, not dialog.

That's cool - and I think I heard it was a big driver of online play, even on PS2... If I get the chance to play multiplayer, I'd sure give it another shot. I know I didn't get a very complete view of it - I just played and played and seemed to get nowhere, so I moved on.

Now playing

I'm looking forward to looking forward to it, lol

The funny thing is, while I know Apple's case - highly contentious for many years, and only possibly settled now - I can't look up the Georgia case if there is one because Georgia is simply a place name, and even then it's not unique. That's why words like that are never rightly awarded trademark status - everyone

Yeah, it really seems like it does exactly what it sets out to, so I can't fault it for that - I just couldn't see the appeal at all. I didn't know what it was when I started, so I didn't have expectations for it as a loot grinder or anything. I also really enjoy the kinds of tasks that you can get the hang of

I've only played it on PSP - I think it was the first MH on PSP? It was years ago, so bear with any inaccuracies please - this isn't a perfect account.

Since I never look at an animal and think how I want to eat it... I'll go with Cactuar! I'm thinking it'd be a lot like a cucumber or cactus - but you've gotta get some kind of stat boost from eating a tough little freak like that!

Actually, Apple has been quite contentious. I wonder if that's really finally settled. I'm sure "The Elder Scrolls" is already trademarked though - and that's fine - it's a unique phrase. I think this is just a scare letter.

Yes! Or since you can't trademark a single existing word, they could call it "The Elder Grimoire"

Yes! Or since you can't trademark a single existing word, they could call it "The Elder Grimoire"

Not at all. When I see "The Elder Scrolls" or "TES" I think of the series - and as original compound words, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Skyrim should stand as original trademarks, but Oblivion (not "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion"), and Scrolls are single preexisting English words, and as such they have no legal claim to

I am not a lawyer, but what I make of this is:

Interesting! I'd only heard of the Gameboy spinoff of that. There is always something older...

But that's only a distinction to be made after adding additional qualifiers. A fish tank is the "first 3D display" (for the sake of argument - we could always get into the earliest statues...), but it is not the "first digital display to depict a 3D image using a 2D surface." Just as Hovertank 3D isn't the "first

I would assume it'd take many more man hours too - but when he asserts that other games should cost half as much as his, he kind of needs to put his cards on the table to be taken seriously. It's possible it didn't cost more than the average major game title too - in which case he's just arguing they should profit as
