The world is a mess. That’s one fact we can all agree on.

You’ve got to be kidding me. This isn’t surprising, this isn’t news, this is how this mfer does things. He’s made everything about himself since the day that I learned Donald Trump was a thing that existed. Predictably boring, narcissitic tweet by a delusional, boring, racist, know nothing lout who just so happens to…
I don’t condone greed, but I also am not one who thinks it’s my job to tell Jeff Bezos what to do with his money.
What you’re saying is undoubtedly true and that kind of dogwhistly commentary deserves to have a spotlight shined upon it. We should absolutely hound and disgrace the jerks who propagate this nonsense, whether they’re doing it openly or in a veiled way. Unfortunately, a secondary (and admittedly much less serious)…
If we’re talking TLJ, I think you need to ask yourself why there was such a negative reaction to TLJ, but not a similar reaction to Rogue One. Another SW film with a female protagonist and a cast of racially diverse characters. I’ve read many comments from people who hated TLJ but really liked Rogue One.
Of course, Disney is destabilizing the entire MCU because of their stubbornness. I suppose it’s possible the Eternals movie could fill in the gap that the Gunn fiasco has created, but it’s still ridiculous.
I absolutely loved this book, but if I'm wishing for a Stephenson based game, I'm going for Snow Crash or Diamond Age. Made by Bethesda and I'm in heaven.
Tommy Westphall is easy to tie into Disenchantment.
I was at a taping of the show a couple weeks back and took part in the pre-show Q&A. I’ve always known he was a big Lord of the Rings fan, that’s been clear since his days on the Daily Show. I asked him about his favourite comedy albums which was a fun comedy nerd thing for me but the last question was, of course,…
Mr. Pullam-Moore loves to shit on things for some weird reason. Sometimes he nails it with some interesting perspective or leaving just enough unsaid to leave you in a state of mania desperately needing to see the media. Sometimes he just whiffs.
Loving something doesn’t drive traffic. Negativity sells. This site has long gone out of it’s way to either trash stuff, or report on other people trashing stuff.
So are you trying to say that Bob is Sub-Parr?
The fact that Valve made the move forward towards freedom of choice, allowing the paying public to decide what to buy speaks volumes. Allow the market to police itself as far as what is and isn’t offensive and what is and isn’t worth our hard earned money. The only thing that has the potential to be a problem is the…
I already said this on Grayson’s Kotaku post, but basically:
Frankly what choice do they have? Every major platform on the internet from facebook to youtube has very publicly attempted to control and police the roiling insanity that is human expression and they have ALL failed, either through missing the offenders, false positives or straight up cultural and ideological…
I felt a deep, incredibly sad irony while I watched socialists protest at the Brandenburg gate in Berlin–they were literally standing on top of markers in the ground where the socialist government of East Germany killed people fleeing communism. I feel the same when I read this article; despite evidence to the…
Aaah the religion of peace, where you arrange your daughters marriage and throw your gay sons off buildings
I can’t speak for the movie itself, but I think one should take into account that the energy of a SXSW premiere with a jazzed-up audience and Spielberg in the room can create a euphoria about the movie you just watched. I mean, the festival premiere of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was similarly positive.
The movie is green on Metacritic and fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. I have no skin in the game, it seems like some here really have feelings about whether it succeeds or fails, but I have hopes.
Right now Netlfix has 117.58 million paying* subscribers. That’s roughly 1.175 BILLION a month or 14+ BILLION a year. They are doing perfectly fine. They could buy 282 movies a year at $50 mil a pop before they were in the red.
