I feel like Batgirl is counter to the idea of a heroine. She was backstage, runnerup, and such to Batman. She never had a persona of her own, since it was entirely inspired and borrowed from HIM.

the America Rising trilogy sounds so interesting, but the very premise sounds so unbelievable. Anybody read some of it offer opinions? It just seems like alot to swallow to suspend disbelief.

Generally speaking, a person should always be able to receive treatment in a hospital. Always. What gets hairy is if the hospital can argue that it isn’t immediately life threatening. Things get stretched then where a person is sent home (to save costs for the hospital) while not actually in a good place.

That is called assault. And surprisingly (for some) the racist is actually the victim due to how we see violence as not a protected form of speech. While you are free to disagree with this and work to change it, the law is the law.

Well, I did feel a little depressed watching it. Hard to watch. Ugly. I enjoyed it though.

The Dark Tower was actually quite good on its own, IMO. I had not yet read the books. While an adaptation of them, it was lacking, as a fantasy/adventure/action film, it was great.

I think people really aren’t succeeding in disconnecting what made the books great versus what makes the movie good.
