The R8 driver didn't even appear to be trying to take anything like a good line. At the left-side cone, they kept taking a far wider line than you, and thus hitting the water almost intentionally. Either they are terrible at driving, or they thought that even hitting the wettest parts of the skidpad they could take

That's what I was thinking. They probably weren't, but it looks to me like they're both on their phones.

Oh, I dunno. I was behind a car that hit a guy crossing the street early one morning. The driver stopped, I stopped, and so did 3-4 other cars.

Unfortunately, you can't plan for every eventuality. According to the video, the mother stepped out of the room for a moment. Could have happened to anyone, I'd say.

    Seconded.

For an excellent book on the beginning stages of the Revolutionary war, check out David McCullough's 1776. Excellent read for the history buff.

I like your optimism, but having bent roll cages in rally cars before, I respectfully disagree. Even with .120 sidewalls, they'll bend on sufficient impact. The force of the car hitting the ground is a fraction of what it hit the ramp with. Hitting the ramp dispersed nearly all of the car's energy, and it gains

I've bent rally car roll cages on things like trees and the ground (yes, the ground...snap rolls aren't fun).

It'd take a well thought out, efficient, and easy to access and navigate public transit system, which sadly does not exist in my area.

Glad he didn't kill someone else. Not so concerned with the rider.

A guy local to me has one of those, in blue, that is his daily driver. Older guy. He's probably the original owner, come to think of it.

    Hey another Oregonian. Right on.

    Love their sauce.

Same here. Been with the credit union for 14 years or so, and normal banks are just weird.

    From the article:

I've always wanted to make a wife-beater that said "As seen on COPS" and sell it online. The ultimate moment would be when someone was arrested on COPS wearing it.

    Hear hear!

Here, like Nick Mason, is a man who knows how to spend his money.

Nick Mason's any car, only because I can't have any of them.
