My head just explodes when I read a trump tweet accusing someone else of “unethical behavior.” His entire administration is a demonstration of unethical behavior.

He’s not bound in his future rulings to what he says to her or even what he says in his confirmation hearings (unless he blatantly lies about some fact in his background I guess). I’m sure he’ll say whatever he needs to say to get confirmed, and Susan Collins will blindly believe him (or pretend to, anyway).

I have no insight into his views on Roe v. Wade—something extremely important to me as a liberal, female Democrat and mother of a teenage girl. But whatever he decides on Roe, I know it will be because he believes the Constitution requires that result.

I wish to Dog that Dems had the cojones to say, Take a seat, Kavanot. W’ll consider your nomination right AFTER hearings are held for the existing / previous candidate.

I think a lot of men raised by single mothers or lesbian couples probably do grow up to be good men, there’s no man around to perpetuate the cycle of sexism and misogyny.

His menz feels were obviously of way more importance to him than the legacy of the icon they were burying.

Yeah, this wasn’t a “eulogy” this was someone grand standing. Did he even talk about Aretha or did he just slot himself in as the featured afternoon diatribe?

The gospel music brought back a lot of great childhood memories and almost made me want to go back for the music. But the eulogy definitely acted as a reminder as to why I became incredibly disillusioned with the black church and organized religion in general.

The truth is even better: the Queen of England herself directly ordered the performance. No stuffy colonels could get in the way of that. She has been a true fan for decades.

That is a little unfair. The Army bands are often doing medleys of popular music, including film scores and similar.
