Everyone I know who works there does talk about how yes, they work for The Death Star, but it’s actually really a good place to work.

Google. I have friends who’ve taken jobs at all of those. Google is the company that sheds women fastest by their own volition. Then Amazon, then Facebook. Friends who work at Microsoft tend to stay there.

I’ve got a lot of friends who worked for Microsoft, IBM, Dell, you name it; Google was, no question, the worst.

Your point was that it doesn’t get discussed, I pointed out that it does get discussed. So yes my response was helpful. When someone provides an example of a woman holding another woman back then we’ll see the shit storm. Do you think that if a woman had have wrote the Google memo it would have been ignored? Because

Yes. Yes it does. It’s utterly disgusting, and worse, it doesn’t just stay in the bathroom - the smell starts to linger outside, too.

Agreed but her little sister (aspiring fashion designer) made it so that warms the cockles somewhat.

My much younger female coworker said to me today that we have to just accept that this is the way our office runs (dominated by men). It made me so depressed. I used to feel the same—just do your job, show up, work hard, and everything will work out.

And that, my friends, is what integrity looks like in the wild.

Lady Gaga is lucky to be a celebrity if her pain is related to fibromyalgia and not an injury. As a fellow fibro haver, going to the hospital when in a severe flare usually only results in being treated like a pill junkie looking for a score.

- Get better, Gaga!

Kelly Clarkson says she turned down millions of dollars just so she wouldn’t have to share song-writing credit with Dr. Luke.

Yup! Plus the tech industry is basically just one seething mass of tech workers who move back and forth. Sure they get new blood, but in their ranks you’re going to find people who have worked at others. It’s like 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, except you’re never more than 1 degree away from xyz trendy tech company.

Call it out more? Have you been living under a rock? Internalized misogyny is constantly talked about. Maybe you discovered in 2016 that women can hold oppressive views of themselves but pretty much everybody else already knew that.

Obvious etiquette breach here.

“And again, it’s younger Indian guys who are more racist”

Internalized sexism and misogyny is always talked about. Are you new to Jezebel that you don’t realize this?

See, I feel like people are being pretty judg-y about this. I have health issues that mean my digestive system occasionally just shuts down and my food basically just rots in my intestine. Once I start pooping again, that shit is unbelievably foul. But I’m pooping wherever I am because holding it in can trigger the

Two things:

Both women and men grow up in a patriarchal system and internalize some subconscious bias. Just because some women do it too doesn’t mean it’s ok.

Seems like that’s the story at every large tech company. Work for any big name long enough and you walk away with scars. It’s...ungood.
