I have seen M60s modified to look like a M1 as well look at walking dead. I love seeing something about modern US military and they have UH-1s because UH-60s are not available.

Yeah but the point is Hollywood can and does make movies about the military with out the DoDs assistance and guidance. In-fact most movies about the modern US military have no DoD help because the film makers don't want to submit to the DoDs guidelines.
