The party was scheduled start at 9 PM sharp, and the hostess was makmg last minute arrangments with her staff. Soon, just as the hors d'vours were set on their platters, the guests started to arrive. It was an old styled masquerade party, and the guests were all there to try to outdo one another with their boasts

I would watch/read/play this.....

"so, you just ride the merry go around, and then what?" Steve looked increduosly at the contraption, but still didnt comprehend it function, or why he should care.

"Verily, I doth just break wind in a thunderous manner, and must now check my cape for what the Man of Iron call 'skidmarks'"

I was kind of hoping for a Skrull or Kree reference...something that could tie into a bunch of other characters and movies down the road....but, I am still jazzed about this movie.

"Are you sure this thing is safe? I mean, a duck or swan vessel would make sense, but an ostrich is not even a marine animal!" Steve exclaimed, looking at the brightly colored avian submersible bobbing on the surface of the water.

"Great Leaping laelops!" is now my go to catch phrase...

The poor guy is prolly thinking "Where is a Bear Bath and Beyond Loofah when you need it?"

You know, when I tried doing something like that 20 years a go, I had to go see a special child psychologist....

Actually, I have given this some thoguht on days where I imbibed too much alcohol or bad Mexican style food.

I dont think the problem is there are no Heroic Scientists (Mr. Spock? Mr. Fantastic? Dr. Who?) It is getting people to understand scientific principles to drive a story forward without resorting to technobabble, geekspeak, or oversimplification. Everytime I try to write a Sci-Fi story, I find myself overexplaining
