I think the big problem with Enter Macbeth (which I will from now on refer to as "The Scottish Episode") is that the writers wanted to play Macbeth's back story close to the chest to make the eventual reveal more impactfull. The problem was that all the back story they were holding on to needed to be replaced with,

I have to say though after TNG the fact that they continued to use allegory for this rather than straight up, so to speak, showing LGBT people was really annoying to me. For a show meant to show an idealistic vision of the future this felt like a real cop out.
If they ever do another series I think that a LGBT

The fourth season was leading up to the escalation of the Earth-Romulan War. But, alas, it was not to be.

That is a pretty bad episode, but at it's worst it is just weird and incoherent. Profit and Lace is just down right offensive while simultaneously think it was being progressive. If you haven't seen it already you should watch it just to understand how low Trek can go.

It's really the worst episode of Star Trek ever made. That is saying something since it takes a lot to knock out my previous winner (loser?) of this spot Profit and Lace.

You have to give them a break. They just woke up from a 1000 year sleep. They were used hand written Latin tomes and maybe some minstrels. It's like remembering what you watched as kid and revisiting it later and finding it lacking. These guys are kids when it comes to tv. Plus Brooklyn, Broadway and Lexington at this

Fox had the best deep story line but for just sheer fun I have to go with Jackel and Hyena. Bat shit insanity that's played with the gusto of Matt Frewer and Cree Summer is just down right fun.

Nichelle Nichols played Elisa's mother and Avery Brooks has a guest spot during the World Tour.

I don't know, when he debuts his exo-armor later on it's clear he wants to be inside Goliath.

Gargoyles coverage? Yes please! I am also glad it's Oliver Sava doing it. He really knows how to bring thoughtful deconstruction, production history and child like wonder to his reviews. Now if you will excuse me I am going to recite the opening monolouge in my best Keith David voice and start singing the theme song.

Does anybody else think that instead of a Sideboob album they should've released one of O'Neill on the banjolele?

I'm not sure they exactly humanized Fig as much as gave some nuance to her motivations. Like Myles said she is still clearly a villain, but it goes to the larger theme of how the system at large can help obscure and rationalize these different behaviors. Fig thinks she the good one ultimately because in here mind she

Vee has been the greatest addition this season. Not only because Lorraine Toussaint is great (I never would have thought that she could play a sociopath so well) or that she is at the center of the story line with the most tension and excitement, but she illustrates a good point about why mass incarceration is so

"I dug the moment when Big Boo asks Red for some kind of special dedication, and Red gives her a joking insult, which is what everyone at the table thought Big Boo was prompting. In truth, she was testing Red, having spotted the sewer grate and pondering her best alliance. Nice subtle work from Lea DeLaria."

General question for everyone: What do you think of flashbacks for some of the prison staff at some point in the future? It could probably only work for few of them and would have to wait until the well of inmates stories has started to run dry, but I feel it would help understand the psychology and motivation of

This was one of the weaker of the back stories this year. It seemed to serve as less of a way to flesh the character out than to set up the end when Vee uses her manipulation powers to get her to come in line. It not necessarily a horrible way of doing that but compared to other much better back stories, this and last

The expansion of the prison staff's backgrounds and motivations is the smartest move this show has made this season. Getting to know the inmates is great and there are still quite a few stories to tell about them but there comes a point when you have exhausted all the first and second tier inmates and then you either

I love OITNB but they don't have the best track record with accurate accents. It's one of the nitpicky things I am willing to push to the back of my mind.
