The description on the comic says “Valve decided to give players who watch the International a virtual vuvuzela. Guess the result.” I think the joke is more about over the top crowd reactions for something mundane like just getting a last hit on a creep.

I’d like to add Half Life Alyx as an honorable mention. VR still has a kinda niche audience, but that game was amazing.
You say that, but I enjoyed the spin off significantly more than SAO itself. It was refreshing to get away from Kirito as the MC for a while.
What does this mean for Steam OS? I remember hoping that platform would become a way to play any Windows/mac/Linux games on a single machine. At release it wasn’t what I had hoped for, and I didn’t follow development close enough to see where it landed.
