I think the appeal here is really the do-over aspect. We get to find out what these actors can do and what these characters can be like working with a competent director. I’m very curious. Christensen got pretty much screwed over with the prequels, I think it’s cool he gets a second chance.

The only answer for Portman has to be that she was told to be stoic and monotone because she was a queen or something.  She’s never been that flat in anything else of hers I’ve seen, including her younger roles.

Nah, the sequel trilogy just reinforced that you really only need the OT, plus Rogue One. The prequels are still a massive disappointment.

Being set in 2002 makes this movie a period piece in two senses!

Honestly, those quotes about how “if anything happens to me in there, I did not do it!” If I’m in charge of that jail, Smollett’s on the strictest suicide watch possible from day one, because that sounds to me like a someone who’s calling his shot at some weird sort of martyrdom.

As a white man, I know don’t have any right to tell a black man to not do the fist in the air.  But, I do feel like that he really shouldn’t be doing that in this situation.

The primary “creative difference” was that the studio wanted this movie to be something approaching “Watchable.” 

Not sure if this was conveyed and I just didn’t catch it, but McDonalds doesn’t use plastic hose lines to get the syrup to the dispenser, it uses metal lines that are chilled, which is why they get it in metal tanks instead of plastic bags.

Kinda hoping it was a big misunderstanding and she wanted to do a biopic of Klaus Barbie.
