Now playing

I think you’re talking about something else. You can’t get off this island without some extra ability, and you can’t use Ascent since there’s nothing overhead. Obviously I used a bunch of flowers to light up the island thinking I was missing something, but there’s nothing on it except a Poe.

Curious how you did that. It may be that you had some items/powers I didn’t, since the Goron area was the first thing I did. (I saw someone escape in a video but that person used some extra abilities.) Ascent and Rewind don’t work in this area since there’s nothing immediately above you, and you can’t rewind yourself

Some open world games (including BotW) have a “preferred” path but still let you muddle your way through if you choose the “wrong” option, and maybe it takes twice as long. This is an example where you’re clearly meant to be following a particular path and if you don’t notice it, it suddenly becomes 10 times harder.

I love how your strong opinion is completely uninformed by actually playing the game I’m talking about.

I am apparently in a tiny minority here, but I have been noticing a surprising number of glitches in this game that I wouldn’t expect from a first-party Nintendo game. By this I mean dead ends where the only way out is to reload a save, and without even being told you did something wrong.

The UK is WAY WAY less important globally than any of its residents seem to think.

That’s why companies have to keep coming up with good news to juice the stock price. How do you think Tesla stock performs? By selling cars?

DK64 was already on the Wii U so it should have been even easier (and it’s still not on Switch). And I can’t imagine any reason Banjo Tooie would be harder than Banjo Kazooie in terms of rights from Microsoft. Maybe it’s a technical issue?

Still waiting for Banjo Tooie. I was pleasantly surprised that Banjo Kazooie showed up on the Switch (if you haven’t played it in a while, the save states make certain parts much less frustrating). But now it’s been almost as long since BK released as the original gap between BK and BT. Getting kind of ridiculous...

It’s insane how many journalists just don’t know how to handle the fact that Twitter is just a Nazi blog with a comment section now.

I would absolutely go for an Ape Escape 4.

I was expecting a glider too but that’s only because of BotW. The end of the tutorial leads you down a long one-way path to an utter dead end where you get a cutscene, and the only thing you can do from there is follow the waterfalls down. You are taught a couple times that you can fall into water from any height

That is good to know. I hate that there's a different button to run vs. dash in swimming and jump in climbing. I keep mixing them up because my brain thinks "go faster" should always be in the same place.

For over 35 years Zelda games have been coming out spread pretty far apart, and each one treats the player like they’ve never played one before. More than most games in a series, the Zelda games all seem designed to be played independently. So I would have no hesitation suggesting someone try this one first, if it’s

There really wasn’t much of a tutorial on cooking in BotW either as I recall. You are meant to fumble around on some of these things.

What a deeply stupid and lazy comment.

I was happy to get it for $50 using only the voucher technique, but that sounds even better.

Not enough people who like Jack Black appreciate his first movie: Bob Roberts (with Tim Robbins, Gore Vidal, Giancarlo Esposito, and Alan Rickman). It felt pretty silly in 1992 but very prescient looking back on it.

Point taken, I didn’t remember that, but that would definitely make it lazy mockery. Oh well.

There are lots of games that get perfect scores which I intensely dislike, mostly because of the genre. Not everyone likes open world games, and if you don’t, it doesn’t sound like this will be up your alley.
