That’s because the games for Essential come out at the beginning of the month, while the games for the higher two tiers come out in the middle of the month. So most game sites are doing these updates twice a month. (It doesn’t look like Kotaku ever did one for the regular May update two weeks ago, which is weird.)

I definitely felt that from the very beginning. The interface was obviously meant to be played on the TV with your handheld tablet to scroll through all the menus separately, and it would have been great. Instead forcing it to work in handheld-only mode for the Switch made the interface horribly clunky.

I finished it and enjoyed it well enough, but it did feel like a slog at some point (I remember taking a break for many months). If you ask me what I remember the most about it, it’s moving blocks around with a magic wand in the shrines and the goddamned rain. Still I preordered this one, hope springs eternal.

Sony once again demonstrating that the Premium tier is only for the most gullible morons, like me who accidentally let it renew. The PS1/PS2 collection remains pathetic and way worse than PSNow was.

Yeah, I mentioned NYC specifically because it’s the only place in the US where transit commuters are the majority, but I was surprised to find that places like Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, and San Francisco are all above 30%. Lots of Americans with good professional jobs take transit.

If you're gonna play Switch on the bus, use your damn headphones.

People who live around New York City often have good jobs and still take buses or trains because it’s easier and faster and cheaper than driving.

Still wondering whether the maps have been substantially improved. The ones in the first game were really bad, and some people seem to say they’re just as confusing here while others say they’re better. It was the one thing I really disliked about the first game.

First-time buyers can get it for $50 while those who already own the game on PS4 can upgrade for $10. Save data carries over as well.”

I pray to God we don’t get the books, songs, TV specials, and movie about this kid that Andy Kaufman got.

This is good advice, since that’s totally what I would do. Must get 100% in everything even after it stops being fun (doing 2018 Spiderman right now...)

Interesting, I never dug that deep. Thanks.

I’ve said it before: release a real Banjo-Kazooie game, you cowards.

How did “Not Gay Jared” get that nickname? Was it because he refused Crowder’s “totally not gay” advances too often?

Boomers were famously liberal when they were young, weren’t they? It’s not at all obvious now that today’s young lefties won’t also sell out and/or go crazy as they age.

I finally understand what this comic is about! This game, apparently!

I feel like tiny text has been an issue since the PS3 era. Except on Nintendo systems, most games seem to have some really small font in the subtitles or item/mission descriptions which drives me nuts. My TV isn’t tiny but I usually cannot read what’s on the screen without having to get up closer.

The worry is that someone at Kotaku might watch the stream and decide to spoil something in a headline on release day, like they recently did with Horizon DLC.

All I wanted was a Switch with no handheld mode, no screen, no joycons, no dock, apparently that was too much to ask.”

Boomers raised a lot of kids to be just as terrible as them.
