Nintendo’s presentation will probably be a showcase of “Fairly Good Photos from Pokemon Snap” together with a special tie-in to Pokemon Go: you can transfer your photos from one to the other!

It’ll always be kind of amazing how broken capitalism is that you can build an entire financial industry out of people like Notch Persson saying, “Well what the hell CAN one do with hundreds of millions of dollars?” All the biggest NFT buys seemed to be anonymous, thus likely trust-funders and accidental millionaires

Mario Kart 8 again, now featuring potholes and NPC pedestrian lanes!

I never understood the hate for Other M. People complained about the characterization, but all they apparently wanted was “Grrr I’m a gruff space marine and I happen to be a woman BUT WE MUST NEVER TALK ABOUT IT.” And the game was fun!

Look at this person expecting sequels rather than ports. You’ll get Cubivore 1 for $60 and like it! It’s got a special feature: if you press the + button while playing, it says, “Screw you, get back to your stupid game.”

A lot of people thought the Wii U might be a portable console like the Switch is. Honestly the Wii U made no sense and was garbage, and I have one and still play it sometimes.

Sure we were. Those Neanderthals didn’t exterminate themselves, you know.

My predictions:
1) Wii Music for Switch, coming Spring 2023
2) Playable Goomba in Smash Bros., coming January 2022
3-4) Switch (an all-new quadratically-improved 1/16-assed effort from Nintendo; the entire game is watching other people play 1-2 Switch and somehow enjoying themselves)

I couldn’t read your post clearly, so I think you’re asking for ports of Yoshi’s Woolly World and Metroid: Other M on Switch. If so, you’re in luck!

Coming simultaneously to the Switch and the next Nintendo system in 2026!

Every time I can think of that a follow-up game/episode/movie has been released in a franchise after a very extended delay, the fanbase has always been extremely happy with it and moves on with their lives in short order.

You could solve so much of this problem (and many other problems) by just banning adult men in baseball caps.

They should get some decorations that look like Epic Mickey then...

Yeah, it’s like they had to pay for each pixel according to its brightness and were trying desperately to stay under budget.

Keep in mind, Epic Mickey sold partly based on expectations and hype. Most of the people who bought it probably didn’t love it, and weren’t eager to buy the sequel.

Yeah, except Mario Galaxy was also on the Wii.

Now playing

I just skimmed through a playthrough of the game, and I quit just before that boss (some kind of clock thing, I guess). About minute 50 in this playthrough.

I felt like I was exactly the target audience for Epic Mickey: I was voracious for games on the Wii, loved cartoony platformers, very interested in historical evolution of characters.

I am slightly disappointed since I always confused this game with Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders. That’s on me though.

I don’t know why Kotaku keeps reporting on the PS5 shortage without mentioning that the PS4 has also been impossible to buy for about a year. It puts the “PS5 is still outselling PS4" stories in some important context.
