The Motörhead version is just one 3-minute song repeated 20 times.

Dreamcast lasted almost two years and had almost no third-party support, and was one of the best consoles of all time.

A lot of big corporate decisions are like this. The point is not so much to make money providing a service, it’s to generate good headlines to drive the short-term stock price. This is all the stockholders and the executives care about. Google stock pays no dividends, so all the profits they make from search are

Surprise! You’re not getting that either.

Nintendo has not been able to produce a consistent schedule of games in literally 25 years, since the N64 launch. The only exception has been the first year of the Wii launch.

I liked the Wii and I liked motion controls. And I liked Skyward Sword, for a while. But the final boss battle was one of those few instances where I said, “Screw it, I don’t need to see the end of this game, I have a life to live.”

I set my expectations at rock-bottom basement dig-a-tunnel-to-China low, and I’m still disappointed.

The video will start with the announcement of the next Nintendo Direct, scheduled for August 13. The remaining 49.5 minutes will be all about interesting things that happened on August 13 in history.

I think your expectations are way too high. I expect Nintendo will say, “We have decided to exit the video game business to devote all our time to researching QAnon. We have emptied the bank accounts of everyone who ever bought a digital game from us. If you head to your living room now, you’ll find your Switch

“Making fun of the thing” by “doing the exact thing” is a surprisingly common style of parody.

I’m sorry, but are you comparing this

No. Having save files for NES games was extremely rare. The Zelda and Dragon Warrior games were the only ones I knew that had them. The cartridge had to have a special construction, and the game would save directly onto the cartridge (not the system).

There are all sorts of little decisions made in that game that make for an unpleasant experience: having two toads instead of Peach as the fourth character, the save and checkpoint system, the fact that you can’t do normal multiplayer with the Wii U controller, and the levels themselves make you feel like the designer

As one of the ten people who owned a Wii U, I remember that Mario 3D World was very well-received, especially in comparison to the previous Mario game, New Super Mario Bros Wii U, which was not a very inspired game (I personally disliked it intensely because it felt like such a chore).

Selling point: carry over your all game-breaking bugs from your old save file into the sequel!

Dumb question, but wasn’t ray tracing a fairly well-known thing back in the 1980s? I get that it was computationally harder then and is probably easier now, but is there something new about it?

You don’t know how big I am.

In fairness though, the stock market has gone south many times in the past decades. Every time the government pumps money into it to bring it back up. It’s not crazy to see that and wonder why you can’t get in on it.

I’m sorry, because I know you thought this through in detail, but that is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard in my life. It’s like saying, “You know what video games need? A peripheral that sometimes, at random, shoots you in the eye if your character falls off a ledge, because that’s what real life is like.”
