Same. At 7, I had a teacher who announced that ALL New York apartments had roaches. I raised my hand and said “Ours doesn’t.” She brought this up to my mother as an example of how I “talked back” in class. Mom was like “my house doesn’t have roaches, and I’ve taught my daughter not to lie.”
