This is inaccurate. Drinking has many unwanted harmful side effects that can ripple out to many other people and other property, up to and including airline pilots. I would argue that its radius of harm, while more variable than smoking, can sometimes be even worse.

To quote a book title, everything is obvious if you know the answer. Many people are not as savvy as you, so this scam might indeed fool them.

Could this be mitigated by a phone cover that blocks or garbles incoming sound? When you want to use the phone to speak your commands you could remove the cover. Kind of like those screens they put over laptops to block people from peeking at what you’re typing or reading.

I think it is better to work out a review system for email such as Getting Things Done, Total Workday Control, or some other filter/label setup that will highlight important messages and filter our or assign lower priority to less important messages.
