Great advice. I found out the hard way that a sink can look mostly empty yet still have 12 items to wash in it. Every additional item is indeed motivation-sapping.

Grammar correction of the year - I loved that scene!!

Another part of this is that after a couple of generations during which a large part of the nation had to be forced to acknowledge the equality of so many of its citizens, too many people in power now think those equal rights are a privilege they gave us.

But it also reminds me of Chris Rock. “There are no barricades here.” .... There aren’t supposed to be barricades! You want a cookie?

He got the largest Black vote of any president in history - period.

“My grandfather lost 3 brothers in WW2 fighting Hitlers army” Then you should realize what your grandfather was fighting against, and you should also know at some point they will come for you - either to eliminate you or to ask you to eliminate others. In either case, something your grandfather said No to.

I’m no fan of Trump, but this is not plagiarism. Melania Trump and Monica Crowley - those were plagiarism.

I was so happy that Clemson won. I’m not a Clemson fan, just tired of seeing Alabama win all the time.

Who’s Dude? The name sounds familiar but I forget where I’ve heard of him.

“ flouting rules” Again - this is a straw man argument. It is not “ flouting rules” to be a faithless elector. It following the rules. What you are doing is appealing to adverse consequences in an attempt to wish that the rules of the Electoral College were different.

“ the rule of law” The rule of law in this case is exactly that electors are allowed to be “faithless” so the law would be working precisely as intended. If all electors can do is rubber stamp the state votes then the Electoral College literally serves no purpose. It is one thing to say we should abolish or change the

You really can’t work with regular logic when “the moral high ground” is used with a straight face by a KKK guy.

Well I can say, for starters, that the Republicans control the whole government, so I expect no excuses from them or attempts to blame Democrats. Step aside and watch the GOP work its magic.

“Working class rust belt whites have seen their communities getting worse while the rest of the country bounced back.” I’ve seen this claim a lot since last night and I just don’t see it. Wages are stagnating for many people not just the Rust Belt; poverty and homelessness on the rise; major issues with police use of

Thanks for the positive note.

“I think a solution that preserves the EC at the federal/constitutional level is worth exploring.” Isn’t the federal/constitutional (i.e. presidential) level the only place the EC makes sense? The House and Senate are all state-by-state aren’t they?

Just curious - do you think ranked voting would undermine the Electoral College system, or make it better?

Perhaps that was partly due to the extreme closeness of that election and to the fact that Gore won the popular vote. Uncertainty was a significant factor. I guess that could happen this year, but if it is a blowout I am not sure parallels to 2000 would be warranted.

Now it’s clear. That game was rigged.
